GUN FRONTMAN DANTE SHOWS FEAR AT LINLITHGOW

GUN frontman Dante Gizzi says he's too much of a coward to even learn to drive never mind go on a funfair ride.
The Word Up frontman was with his kids after performing at McEwans Party At The Palace and made a point of spending some dad time with them straight after he came off stage.
He said: "I took them to have a shot of the funfair rides but I avoided it myself.
There no way I'm going to go on all of these rides. I hate that sort of stuff. I don't even drive.
That stuff makes me queezy. I remember doing it once at T in The Park and I threw up but that was cause I had a three quarter bottle of gin."
Jools added: "This was our first Party At The Palace and we were absolutely blown away."
Dante enthused: "Last week we had to cut our set short at Belladrum so we played a bit more here. It's a very family orientated festival but it's also about music lovers and I love the fact people can install that into their children."
The lads have just built a new studio and will soon be working on a new album.
Jools said: "The roof is almost finished and we'll be recording a new record by September and finished this year then ready to go for the start of next year. It will be typical Gun, rocking anthems."

CHRISTOPHER BIGGINS FLIES TO SCOTLAND AFTER BIG BROTHER CONTROVERSY

CHRISTOPHER Biggins fled the heat of London and the aftermath of Celebrity Big Brother by escaping to Scotland on a secret short break with his friends.
The larger than life TV personality apologised publicly after being at the centre of a racism and biphobia row following his time in the Big Brother house.
And straight after exiting the house he packed his case to take a holiday in Glasgow and get away from it all.
Biggins, who was removed from the house last week, was keen to get back to normality as he checked into the plush Hotel Du Vin in the stylish West end on Tuesday.
The hotel has been frequented by everyone from Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake to George Clooney and Simon Cowell.

Returning from his evening out shortly before ten pm he was in a jovial mood as he emerged from the taxi.
His friends laughed: "It's Santa Claus without the beard."

Questioned if he was getting abuse on the street he added: "People on the whole have been nice to me thankfully and I love Scotland. I'm very much having a lovely time here with my friends."

It's thought that Biggins then visited Edinburgh to catch up with Lady Colin Campbell who had jumped to is defende following the CBB controversy.
One Fringe enthusiast tweeted: "Super to see lovely @onebiggins, who kindly let me Q-jump at airport yesterday, on way back to @Gildedballoon to @LadyColinCampb show".

BIFFY CLYRO INVITE YOU INTO THEIR VIDEO

SCOTS rockers Biffy Clyro are offering you a piece of the action in the UK’s first immersive music video using virtual reality technology.
The band have teamed up with tech giant Samsung to make a Virtual Reality video for their new track Flammable and you can take part in it during their gig for Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park on August 27.
The video allows fans to be at the heart of an action packed, epic performance within a giant experiential structure, the specially-created “Hypercube”, which will also be at V, and Bestival.

The three and a half storey high cube allows festivalgoers to feel so incredibly close, they will expect to feel the sweat flying off the trio as they step inside a moment of music history.
Samsung used the latest in VR technology, 360-degree cameras and the Galaxy S7 smartphone to create the ultimate audio-visual VR experience. It is a music video concept which has never been seen before in the UK.
Once inside the Hypercube, up to 50 festival goers at a time can use the Samsung Gear VR headset and instantly find themselves beside frontman/guitarist Simon Neil and his bandmates James Johnston (bass) and drummer Ben Johnston, suspended in a Perspex box above an abandoned warehouse.
As the band begins to play, viewers can experience the explosive buzz as the pyrotechnics and the laser lighting erupt around them and mercilessly target the box from all directions, complementing the rousing riffs and weighty lyrics of the song to get hearts racing and give users the ultimate all round experience.

Simon Neil, lead singer of Biffy Clyro said, “We’ve worked with Ross before and knew he was the right person to capture us live and we’ve always wanted to get involved in VR so we’re really pleased to Samsung have given us this opportunity. It’s great to create such an amazing experience for our fans – the result is awesome.”
Ross Cairns, Creative Director at Samsung comments, “This project was born out of a desire to bring the best parts of live music to an audience so people can feel closer to the band than ever before. Biffy were the perfect partners for this. From inception we focussed on marrying music and technology to appear effortlessly synchronised. We’re delighted to bring the wonders of virtual reality to a generation of music fans in this way and demonstrate how we are empowering people to use technology in a way that allow them to experience the extraordinary. As a brand, we will continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, merging virtual reality with the real world.”
The Samsung Hypercube experience not only gives users an unprecedented first-hand experience of VR, but also gives them an exclusive look at Biffy Clyro’s new video. It is not due to launch publicly until later in the year.

DAVID COULTHARD MAKES PRECIOUS PIT STOP FOR SICK KIDS

David Coulthard took time out of the fast lane to meet some of Scotland's bravest sick kids and give them a shot of his F1 car.

The racing champ, who has been appearing at the Ignition Festival at Glasgow's SSE Hydro complex took the special pit stop to meet kids from the Les Hoey MBE Dreammaker Foundation today.
Amongst the kids who got a chance to speak with the star were little Arran Paterson, 8, who desperately needs a liver transplant.

Arran's dad Derek from Baillieston said: "Arran has had twenty five procedures and it really brightened him up to meet David today. It gives him a wee boost. He has an underlying heart condition and needs a liver transplant and we got the call last week but the match was not suitable for his age and size."

Ben Baikie, 6 from Lenzie has leukaemia and loves racing cars.
Dad John said: "He loves Ferraris big and was so excited to be up so close. Ben had his Ferrari outfit on and David gave him a wee hug too. It takes his mind off things and gives him good memories and happy times."

Grangemouth lad David Carr, 7, who was with his mum Laura also loved the cars.
Laura said: "Carr by name, Car by nature. David likes any type of car from American muscle to Formula One. He can tell you a car just by looking at its front lights."
David was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2014 and often gets tired. He was thrilled when David Coulthard asked him about his condition and what his tube was for. He went very quiet because he was in awe."
Charity man Les Hoey said: "We were thrilled David gave us his precious time today. It really helps the kids to have such a great day out."
