TAKE THAT HIGH ROAD ON THE BONNIE BANKS

TAKE That's Howard, Gary and Mark have been enjoying some chill time time on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond in between their hot Scots dates at the SSE Hydro.
And after seeing a mob of female fans working for them outside their hotel Mark Owen joked that they got a bigger crowd there than at their Hydro gigs.

The trio were staying at the swish Cameron House hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow and were welcomed by fifty female fans who had waited to see them since the early hours of the morning.
And although the Greatest Love stars chose swanky Maybach Mercedes to travel in, they were nothing compared to the cars including Ferraris, Aston

Martins and Bentleys that were from the luxury rally also being held at the hotel.
Mark said: "There are more people here than are going to be at the gig tonight."
Gary and Howard also waved to fans as they waited on their cars.
Howard had to wait so long for his car that he mimed getting into it before it came.

The lads played a succession of nights at Glasgow's SSE Hydro and managed to have some chill time this morning with an early walk around the grounds.
Excerpts of this article have now appeared in the Evening Times.

RICK ASTLEY GETS HIS ROLLERS IN AT GLASGOW HAIR SALON

RICK Astley popped into a Scots hairdresser to get his famous quiff done just hours before he was due to perform on stage.
The star who was playing Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall phoned into Taylor Ferguson salon in Glasgow himself to make the appointment under the name Astley but staff didn't twig who he was until he walked in.
Anne Ferguson who took the appointment said: " I spoke to him on the phone when he booked in but I didn't realise it was him. I thought I recognised him a bit when he came in but just thought he was one of our clients from down south. A lady whose husband bought her a voucher for the salon couldn't believe it when she was told he was sitting behind her. She'd not managed to get a ticket for the gig so was thrilled. She got up and had her picture and phoned her husband excitedly to thank him for organising it.
Rick got a cut and style and has fabulous hair that has not deteriorated with age."
Beauty therapist Leanne Donovan and stylist Linda Browne were thrilled to meet him. Leanne who is a huge fan and bought tickets to the gig said: "We put on the music and I offered to be his backing singer or dancer. I was sending about and he was killing himself laughing. He was lovely and at the end of the concert I told him he was fabulous and he said he was loving his hair."

SCOTS SINGER MARK ANGELS ON NEW GARY BARLOW TV SHOW

SCOTS singer Mark Angels has been lined up as one of the new talents on Gary Barlow's latest reality show Let It Shine.
Mark, real name Mark Angelico, who is half Filipino and half Scottish can be seen in the latest trailer for the show which was released on New Years Day.
The talent told his friends he was 'scouted' for the series after he released his first self penned track Do It For Love earlier this year.

The 21 year old who lives in Glasgow describes himself as a singer/songwriter/producer and dancer.
He has built a strong Scots following after winning Unsigned Act of the Year 2013 when he was 18 at the Young Scot Awards.
As a result his song Drop Down Low was playlisted on Clyde One In:Demand Radio at the time.
An insider said: "Mark has made a real impression on the Let It Shine team. He's been flying back and forth to London and is pretty excited about things but has had to keep everything hush hush. He's built up a following through his pop music but this will see him show off another side of his musical talent."

Mark has also been writing songs with production outfit RedZone Entertainment who were responsible for Umbrella by Rihanna and hits by Bieber / Usher / Beyonce.
Let It Shine is the latest reality show offering by the BBC and begins on January 7, at 7pm the same night that The Voice U.K. launches on ITV.
As the brainchild of Take That’s Gary Barlow, over eight weeks, Gary and the judges will try and find five boys who will create a band to star in a theatre production.
Gary said: "We're looking for someone who can sing, someone who can move, someone who can keep an audience on the edge of their seats."
The five winning boys will get to tour the UK in a theatre production called The Band – a musical stage show featuring the music of Take That. Alongside Gary Barlow, the permanent judges will be Martin Kemp and Dannii Minogue. For the first stage of the competition, Glee and Dreamgirls star Amber Riley will be a judge on the panel. However, this will then change for stages two and three. Although Gary, Martin and Dannii will remain, Amber will be replaced by Lulu for stage two. Lulu said: “I have always loved working and sharing in the success story that is Take That. So the chance to bring my experience and knowledge of west end musicals, to help cast for a new show, feels a privilege and I am thrilled to do it."

SINGER NICHOLAS MCDONALD WANTS TWO FRONT TEETH AND OTHER STRAIGHT FOR XMAS

ALL Nicholas McDonald wants for Christmas is his straight front teeth.
The former X Factor singer has had a special brace fitted to his mouth in a bid to straighten up his front teeth - and he says he's doing his best not to get food stuck in it.
Motherwell lad Nicholas, who entertained at the Sun Pop Up Christmas shop earlier this week, revealed: "For Christmas, the teeth are getting done. I'm not getting veneers. I was going to get them. Vitality Edinburgh are doing the teeth and they are getting fixed. I just don't like them. The thing I've got in is like a see through brace and I need to take them out when I'm singing and eating which is a bit disgusting. I was initially meant to get train tracks but I said no. They're meant to be sore and it gives you a wee bit of a lisp which I've got so we've played it safe with the Invisalign. You need to keep it in for twenty two hours a day.
He laughed: "I feel like I'm about to go into a boxing match a wee bit. My teeth will ready in May next year so put it in the calendar."
Nicky has had a busy run up to the festive season and host his own party on Sunday.
He said: "I've been busy. I've got my own event that comes up this Sunday at Dalziel Park and I'm playing with a band and have a Take That tribute and Eddie Reid who is hosting it. Some of the proceeds go to Yorkhill Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity and Alzheimer's Scotland. It's just been rehearsals and everything this week so it's been busy."

RIHANNA REACTS TO SCOTTISH CHANT ON VIDEO

HERE'S Rihanna looking confused and then delighted as her Glasgow fans gave her their famous concert chant.
The singer who performed at Hampden Park this week was thrilled to bits after Scots concert goers decided to give her a taste of home with their chant of "Here
We F***ing Go."
Work singer Rhi Rhi couldn't quite make out their lyrics but ended up congratulating them anyway.
She said: "That rocks. Y'all are awesome Glasgow. I love you guys man."
During her gig the Umbrella singer sashayed and shook her bootie like never before.

Despite brollies being banned from the stadium a few managed to smuggle them in for her big anthem.
The 50,000 capacity gig might not have been a sell out but the We Found Love star still managed to thrill her faithful followers for more than Four Five Seconds.

BEN HAENOW PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE SCOTS FUNDRAISER

SINGER Ben Haenow paid tribute to the late Donna Mortimer Ballantyne after he appeared at a fundraiser in her honour.
The former X Factor winner was a special guest at the Thistle Hotel and helped raise a whopping £164,000 to help the Kilbryde Hospice in memory of the late Bothwell born businesswoman, who died aged 39 after being diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Donna raised funds to help the build of Kilbride hospice before her death, and her family, who own Lynnet Leisure, parent company of well-known Glasgow restaurants and clubs 29, Rogano and One Up, continue to work in her name.
Ben, who performed for VIPs on the night including new Rangers manager Mark Warburton and some of Celtic's finest, said of Donna: "This lady did such a lot of amazing things for charity and helped with charities in the West of Scotland and she helped to raise money to build Kilbryde hospice and continues to do lots even after she sadly passed away.

He added: "My granddad passed away not too long ago and was in a hospice. It does happen and the importance of this thing is that it does touch somebody at some point in their lives. At some time we know someone who has been affected from it and it's a great thing to help with it and raise money for any kind of charity.
"I've visited a few hospices, some purely for children which is quite a tough thing to see but to see the quality these hospices give people towards the end of their lives and the support they for to everyone around is a great thing and a really important network."
Ben is due to appear at Hamilton racecourse this Thursday and admitted he loves visiting Scotland
He said: "I've been in Glasgow many a times before and the crowds are cool. We were here for the X Factor tour for two days and we went out on one of the nights. But I can't give too much away about it. We're doing a lot of things just now and have a lot of gigs set up for the summer. I'm in talks about recording a new EP too."

COLDPLAY BRING LOVE TO HAMPDEN

Maria Callas kicked off Coldplay's biggest gig in Scotland yet and we knew were in for a night of classics.
Classic partying.
For a band that is often misrepresented as being boring and bland, Chris showed his sold out crowd at Glasgow's Hampden Stadium that he has more charisma in his little pinkie than his detractors.
A Head Full of Dreams, the title track of the tour came before anthemic Yellow which got the crowd singing along.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall gave them more of the same and Paradise proved to be a full on party track which even had Chris dancing along the runway.
A touching tribute to Muhammud Ali came with a moving video of the Greatest man himself and later in the set Chris paid tribute to David Bowie with his own rendition of Heroes.

The crowd was warmed up and then we all exploded with joy along with the confetti cannons as we went into true party mode on the A stage with a run of the biggies Clocks, Hymn For The Weekend, Viva La Vida and Adventure For A Lifetime.

Giant bouncing balls were thrown about the stadium as everyone jumped up and down with glee like excited teenagers at their first school dance.
And then Chris and co disappeared off the stage only to reappear on an even smaller stage towards the back of the stadium giving seated guests an even better view.

He sang Amazing Grace before giving one lucky Scots fan a song she requested on Instagram.
The canons boomed, the confetti fell, the pyros blazed, the lasers blasted and Hampden was filled with love.
A sea of neon armbands waved for Up and Up, bathing the stadium in a rainbow and it was the perfect end to a brilliant day.

CALVIN CONFIRMS TAYLOR SPLIT

CALVIN Harris claims he still has "a huge amount of love and respect" for Taylor Swift as he confirmed news of their break up.
After 15 months Talvin has met its demise and Dumfries born Calvin has tried to silence the rumours by telling fans on Twitter: "The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect."
Taylor herself retweeted the message late last night.
The two former lovebirds were said to be incompatible and it is believed Calvin reluctantly ended the relationship after things became too intense.

WAS MARIAH CAREY A DIVA TO SCOTS BAND SINGLE BY SUNDAY?

POP Rockers Single By Sunday reckon they suffered at the hands of Mariah Carey after they had to cancel a gig earlier this year on her request.
The Scots group were planning to launch their new sounds at the SSE Hydro in mid March but claim her divaness Mariah requested that no other acts perform at the venue in the run up week to her gig.
Lead guitarist Johnny said: "Mariah Carey was playing here just after March 10 and she wanted the whole week to herself and we got shunted out."
Vocalist Josh added: "It spoiled our dreams."
Johnny however reckons Mariah can sweeten them up by following him on Twitter. He added: "Follow me on Twitter and we will get you back. We are coming for you."
The lads, who also include drummer George and bassist Jack, are managed by former Specials musician Kendell Smith. Having performed at the KiltWalk and played Stereofunk festival and Montrose festival in May they can't wait to headline at King Tuts on June 2.
Josh said: "We've been together for eight months and knew one another from school and colleges and other bands. We all write together and contribute."
The lads have taken advice from The Specials Neville Staple who they met in Coventry and added: "It's great to be affiliated with The Specials and we are taking on everything advice wise."
Their repertoire features songs like Cold - a slower paced number full of emotion but Johnny claims that they are also keen in the future to write a track about Katie Hopkins.
He said: "We were going to write a song about Katy Hopkins and all the stuff she says. We think she writes ridiculous stuff and she is outrageous. We wanna take some of the hurtful things she says and turn it on its head. We'd all love to do a collaboration with Paolo Nutini as well. He's worlds apart from Katie. World class."
They have released one EP with songs Get Up Get Out and Single By Sunday with another EP, Atom Bomb on June 3.

CLARE GROGAN BANNED FROM DANCING

ALTERED IMAGES and Gregory's Girl star Clare Grogan claims she has been asked not to dance by her daughter.
The singer laughed: "I was at my daughters school disco the other week and got asked to leave the dance floor for embarrassing mum dancing. I don't go clubbing much and rarely get the chance to do it. My poor daughter couldn't take it any more, genuinely."
Clare who rose to musical fame with hits like Happy Birthday sings jazz in her new film which is being promoted at Cannes.
The Scots talent, who is attending The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice lunch in Glasgow's Hilton hotel tomorrow, features in Delirium with Timothy West and plays the jazz musician wife of a composer.
She said: "I play a singer in it although I don't sing very much on screen. I'm singing a song written for me. I really love the opportunity to unravel and it wasn't too much of a challenge. I'm quite good at unravelling. It's quite nice to do meaty full on drama. There's a full orchestra with an amazing choir and world renowned cello players."
Clare might have starred in the art house flick with Timothy West but says they never got a chance to act together. She said: "We don't have a scene together. If we had a chance to be in a film together it would have been great. He has such an amazing body of work and it's very hard not to have respect for that."
Clare, who lives in London, can't wait to come back to Scotland tomorrow.
She said: "I'm coming up for a lovely event for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice trust. Karen Dunbar said I have to go and she'll be there too. It's just a such an amazing service they provide. Who wouldn't want to support it. Anyone who has been through watching a loved one's illness will understand how important it is to have the right support."

X FILES STAR DAVID DUCHOVNY GOES WALKABOUT IN GLASGOW

Exclusive
Beverley Lyons
DAVID Duchovny got juiced up before his gig at Glasgow's O2 ABC tonight - with a trip to a local health food restaurant.
The X Files and Twin Peaks star only has a couple of dates in the UK and was keen to enjoy some of the delights of the city ahead of his concert.
And proving he's nothing like his alcoholic Californication character Hank Moody, he headed to the KCal Kitchen in West Regent Street for an energising green smoothie as he strolled around town.
David, whose mum is from Whitehills near Aberdeen says he loves coming back to Scotland.
He said: "Whenever I'm in Glasgow I'll jump at the chance to wear a kilt whenever I can. My mother is Scottish and I've not been here for twelve or thirteen years."
David who is a fan of the Average White Bend also revealed he's still figuring out his sound as a singer.
He added: "I started playing my guitar five or six years ago to amuse myself. I'm figuring out my sound as a singer. I have a good friend who is a virtuoso guitarist who says maybe one day he'll get back to playing like he was sixteen. I want to get back to that initial passion and curiosity you have as a beginner. As an actor I've done some sure things that turn out to be terrible failures and some terrible things turned into huge successes."

BGT'S BAILEY MCCONNELL SINGLE AND READY...

BRITAIN'S Got Talent's Bailey McConnell reckons splitting from his girlfriend has given him the motivation to write even better music.
The 17 year old talent has been writing new material for his album and was in Glasgow this week touring with The Brooks twins at the Classic Grand.
He said: " I've been writing in the studio and trying to play my song and make it sound amazing and get on stage in Glasgow and show my tracks."
He added: "I've been through a few things that have spurned me onto writing songs. I was at school and stuff and just split up with my girlfriend and that. I guess I'm single now. It was quite a while to be fair."
Of the new tracks, he said: "My music is deeper and darker and if I have to describe a genre I'd say it's like Zane, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran mixed up."
"You just need the motivation to do what you love especially when you can turn a tough experience into something crazy like a song or dance. I aspire to have that quality and like seeing it in others."
