KIRSTY YOUNG SPOTTED FOR FIRST TIME SINCE BREAK FROM DESERT ISLAND DISCS

Beverley Lyons
SCOTS presenter Kirsty Young has been spotted for the first time since taking a break from Dessert Island Discs last year.
The 50 year old host who was forced to take time off last August due to being diagnosed with chronic pain condition Fibromyalgia,  visited Glasgow  styling salon Taylor Ferguson.
Kirsty, who was said to be looking great, was given a blow dry by stylist Mags Boyd and the team at the salon who have coiffed everyone from Lulu to Billy Connolly.
In a statement  last year, Kirsty said: “Casting away some of the world’s most fascinating people is a wonderful job - however, I’m having to take some time away from Desert Island Discs as I’m suffering from a form of fibromyalgia.
“I wish Lauren all the very best. I know she will be great. And I very much look forward to getting back to good health and back to work.”

RANGERS LATEST PLAYERS FACE NEW CUTS IN GLASGOW

RANGERS new signings Daniel Candeias, Fabio Cardoso and Alfredo Morelos proved to be a cut above the rest after popping in for a new look at a Scots hair salon.
The three amigos were pleased as punch with their new hairdos after being given a makeover by Taylor Ferguson and his team in Glasgow.
Portuguese lads Daniel and Fabio and Colombian Alfredo who are staying at a hotel until they find more permanent accommodation in Glasgow have been training constantly since their arrival here a month ago.
Daniel said: "We've been at the hotel and training and hotel and training. The weather is ok. In Portugal the weather is very good but here not so good. It's a very good team and very good group."
Columbian Alfredo admitted he was struggling with the language but is looking forward to taking English lessons with the other new players next week.
Daniel also claimed the training is Scotland is different to the Portugese methods.
He said: "The football is different to Portugal and stronger here. It's more physical whereas in Portugal it is more technique."
Taylor said: "We get a lot of footballers in here from all teams including Celtic, Rangers and Albion Rovers. The lads were great and wanted a new look for the season. We look forward to welcoming them here again."

RICK ASTLEY GETS HIS ROLLERS IN AT GLASGOW HAIR SALON

RICK Astley popped into a Scots hairdresser to get his famous quiff done just hours before he was due to perform on stage.
The star who was playing Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall phoned into Taylor Ferguson salon in Glasgow himself to make the appointment under the name Astley but staff didn't twig who he was until he walked in.
Anne Ferguson who took the appointment said: " I spoke to him on the phone when he booked in but I didn't realise it was him. I thought I recognised him a bit when he came in but just thought he was one of our clients from down south. A lady whose husband bought her a voucher for the salon couldn't believe it when she was told he was sitting behind her. She'd not managed to get a ticket for the gig so was thrilled. She got up and had her picture and phoned her husband excitedly to thank him for organising it.
Rick got a cut and style and has fabulous hair that has not deteriorated with age."
Beauty therapist Leanne Donovan and stylist Linda Browne were thrilled to meet him. Leanne who is a huge fan and bought tickets to the gig said: "We put on the music and I offered to be his backing singer or dancer. I was sending about and he was killing himself laughing. He was lovely and at the end of the concert I told him he was fabulous and he said he was loving his hair."

ITS DEFINITELY TAPS AFF AS BIFFY CLYRO READ WEATHER

BIFFY Clyro raised temperatures around the country when they took over BBC Weather.
The three lads from Ayrshire were special guest presenters on Radio 1 when they decided to invade the BBC Breakfast Weather studios downstairs and stand in front of the green screen.
Simon Neil and Twins Ben and James Johnston looked in their element as they predicted the climate for this weekends Big Weekend in Exeter.
Interrupting the forecast by Carol Kirkwood, Simon said: "Hold on just one second here. Did you just say Radio 1's Big Weekend? We are going to take Exeter Castle and we are going to raise that temperature. Twenty, that's a forecast but once we play what is it going to be James?"
James replied: "It's going to be screaming hot."
Simon then asked: "Carol do you think it is going to be hot when we play?
Carol replied: "Scorchio."
He then asked: "Ben what do you think it's going to be like? And Ben replied: "Really warm."
Simon laughed: "On a scale of one to ten we feel really happy. Weather is a state of mind."

HOT TO TROT FOR SPRING SUMMER 2016 AT THE THISTLES STIRLING

THE hottest looks from Spring Summer 2016 were on parade along with the fashionistas at The Thistles shopping centre in Stirling last night.
The centre held its Fashion In The Spotlight event to give shoppers the lowdown on this year's must have purchases and fashions from Burtons, Claire’s, Clarks,  Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, Fat Face, H&M
Jack & Jones, Marks & Spencer, Next , Oasis, Primark , Quiz, River Island and Schuh were all on display.
The models (some were really cute ;) rocked and the ever stylish Susie Cormack Bruce of i-on magazine hosted the colourful show while Scots supermodel Eunice Olumide spun the tunes.
Even one of Macbeth the movie's witches aka Kayla Fallon took to the stage. She's the most statuesque witchy woman we've seen - and clever too - studying a physics PHD in between her thespian and modelling pursuits.
Clotheswise, there was something to fit all budgets, and all tastes and it certainly gave us a few ideas for our spring summer wardrobe (we just need to get rid of the old stuff we're hoarding)
Personal Shoppers and Stylists from Marks & Spencer, Boots No7 and Debenhams shared their expert insights live on stage whilst cocktails, chocolates, dough balls, and other treats (yum, hic) were served up around the centre.
Exclusive discounts, gifts with purchases, and free treats were dished out to everyone including us, while talent scouts from Scotland’s Model Team, sought out some stars of the future.
Unfortunately the showbizlion.com wasn't quite tall enough (that's our excuse and we're sticking to it...it was either that or too many doughballs)
The award winning Rainbow Room International team along with The Academy of Makeup –  who came fresh to the show from the international London, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks offered complimentary makeovers as well as sharing their insider behind-the-scenes insights from fashion’s front line and Central FM put on some extra live activities.
The Showbiz Lion was there as a guest of Vine PR who ran the event and we decided to live stream the show and add our own fun interactive commentary while one lucky winner on the night received a £250 voucher for The Thistles,Boots No7 full makeover with luxury gift bag containing the new season’s must-have beauty and  a Beauty Box file and polish.
By the end of the night shoppers felt pampered and entertained and the models, were on a high. So were we, but that might have been the cocktails.

PAOLO DOESN'T NEED TO SCREAM AFTER SPLIT

PAOLO Nutini didn't seem like he needed to Scream at the T in the Park launch despite reports that he recently split from his girlfriend Amber Anderson.
The Pencil Full of Lead and New Shoes singer was in a jovial mood as he mingled with muso pals including Voice star Stevie McCrorie and his brother Paul  at the bash in Glasgow's St Luke's church last Friday night.
After T in the Park boss Geoff Ellis and Tennent's head of sponsorship George Kyle made speeches, the talented Paisley lad who was clad in denim even took time out to have a giggle with The Showbiz Lion about the length of his hair, joking that he was turning into biblical character Samson.
Paolo, 29, is reported by The Mirror to have split from 26 year old model Amber after their romance 'fizzled out'.
The two started dating at Glastonbury in 2014 after Amber passionately made out with him in a bath in his raunchy video Diana, but the Caustic Love singer has obviously taken heed of his album title to turn to pastures new.

CAROLINE FLACK DETERMINED NOT TO HAVE BAD HAIR DAY

CAROLINE Flack might be upset after leaving X Factor but she's determined not to have a bad hair day.

The telly presenter admitted she was devastated after being axed after just a year on the show but she's hoping things will look up now she's been made brand ambassador for Regis Salons. Formerly blonde Caroline  is planing to make waves in her new role by returning to her signature ‘dip dye’ hairstyle.

As a regular visitor to her local Regis Salon, Caroline has, over the last couple of months, been trialling the new Illumina colour service by Wella Professionals, which was debuted exclusively in Regis Salons earlier this year.

Caroline said of her new style role: “It was so exciting to be asked to be the new face 0f Regis Salons; I jumped at the chance. I’ve always loved to experiment with my hair and regularly visit the salon to make subtle changes to the length or colour, to keep the style looking fresh.
What I love about Regis is that, as well as being experts in recreating the latest looks from the catwalks and the red carpet, they really care about great hair.  It's good fun to try out new styles and colours but as long as your hair is looking healthy you'll always feel more confident.  If I have a bad hair day I feel more self-conscious and it can affect my mood, so it's really important for me to take care of my hair.”

Jenny Smith, Marketing Manager at Regis UK, added: “We announced Caroline as the new brand ambassador to our salon mangers at the annual Regis UK conference earlier this year and they were all extremely excited.

“Second only to her legs perhaps, Caroline’s hair is instantly recognisable as beautiful and on-trend – she’s rarely ‘papped’ having a bad hair day, which fits perfectly with our ethos: ‘have a great hair day’. We’re really looking forward to working alongside a real hair and style icon, and can’t wait for the campaign to get underway.”
