TRNSMT: TOP TIPS AND LINE UP FOR GLASGOW FESTIVAL GOERS

REVELLERS at TRNSMT festival are being advised not to bring bags to the event.
The festival kicks off later this week for three days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and event organisers DF Concert have issued a helpful guide with some top tips on how to make the most of the fest.
BAGS
Bags larger than an A3 piece of paper (30cm  by 42cm) will not be allowed at the event and those who need to bring a bag will have to queue in separate lanes and may be delayed.
BANNED
Other banned items at the fest include glass, flag poles, selfie sticks, nitrous oxide aka ‘laughing gas’, laser pens, air horns, multi-tools or flares.. (not the ones you wear).
Illegal drugs are obviously a no no and even “legal highs” are now against the law – so you'll have to get high on the atmosphere if you don't want to be stopped on the way in.
With a brilliant line up including Radiohead, Kasabian, The 1975 and Biffy Clyro over the three days it shouldn't be too hard.

Partner agencies Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, NHS, Glasgow City Council, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Transport Scotland, are also encouraging you to log onto www.TRNSMTfest.com/info ahead of the festival for answers to a variety of FAQ’s.
PLAN
They'd like you to plan your journey in advance and where possible use public transport as there are limited car parking spaces in the city centre. There's a whole load of info regarding this on the site.
OPENING TIMES

DRINKING
If you plan to drink alcohol – know your limits.
· Keep hydrated, well fed, and don’t leave your drink unattended. There are water points around the festival site and bottled water is available at bars. Drink between half a pint to a pint of water an hour.

CLOTHING
The Scottish weather is  ever unpredictable  so wear appropriate clothing (rain jacket, hat, sunglasses, diving suit etc) and apply sun-screen if necessary. If you need help with anything, there are Help Points. Stewards and welfare staff are there to help keep you safe. If you or your friends need assistance at any time, don’t hesitate to ask.
· Consider arranging a meeting point with friends within the festival site in case you get separated. For example, Nelson’s Monument in the middle of the festival site (although everyone might meet there now that we've said that)
· Look after your hearing. Take regular breaks from loud music, and don’t stand too close to the speakers. Disposable earplugs will be available from the welfare tent.
 SECURITY
We're living in a funny ole world so if you see anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously then please report them to the nearest police officer, steward, or member of staff.
 There will be a significant security and police presence at TRNSMT. It’s possible that you will see some armed police, as in other locations around the city.


GETTING IN
· There are two entrances to the festival, an EAST and WEST entrance. We expect the WEST entrance to be very busy so consider reducing your queuing time by using the EAST entrance if you can.
Obviously make sure you have all necessities on hand including any medication you need and aside from that brig enough money but not too much to get lost. There are ATM machines on site so you'll be able to use your card or Apple Pay if you're stuck. Your ticket is also required! You'd be amazed by how many people forget that.
BE GREEN
Glasgow Green is a beautiful little oasis in the city centre so try to keep it as nice as you found it. There are enough toilets in town and at the site to use so you don't have to wee on the street - and remember that people live nearby too - so leave the really loud singing to the bands in the way home unless you want to give us a good giggle. We might even video you and embarrass you when you're sober.

TRNSMT FESTIVAL IS SCOTLAND'S NEW MUSIC BABY

TRNSMT is Scotland's newest festival and will take place at Glasgow Green this summer.
Festival bosses DF concerts revealed the name today in a short video which features lot of bleeps and electronics noise behind a graphic that was reminiscent of an old TV holding page.
The dates Glasgow Green 7-9 July were placed underneath the video with a link to a website that asks you to register for more info.





The only other info available at this stage is who the sponsors are - BBC Scotland, Big Green Couch and Utilita.
Festival fans are currently speculating about the fest, which is expected to be a non camping affair.
Rumours have already circulated that Coldplay and Radiohead may be playing the fest but more news will be revealed in coming days.
Music fans are clamouring for more info with one saying: "Buzzing to see the line up." Another added: "So it's it dance orientated or mixed music? Anyone know yet?"

CALVIN CONFIRMS TAYLOR SPLIT

CALVIN Harris claims he still has "a huge amount of love and respect" for Taylor Swift as he confirmed news of their break up.
After 15 months Talvin has met its demise and Dumfries born Calvin has tried to silence the rumours by telling fans on Twitter: "The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect."
Taylor herself retweeted the message late last night.
The two former lovebirds were said to be incompatible and it is believed Calvin reluctantly ended the relationship after things became too intense.
Either way, fans of both artists are mourning the end of their very special relationship.

PLAN YOUR T IN THE PARK 2016 HERE

Izzy Bizu, The Telermen, The Lapelles and Hey! Hello! will join headliners The Stone Roses, Calvin Harris, Red Hot Chili Peppers plus Disclosure, The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Jess Glynne at T In The Park.
The event at Strathallan Castle across July 8 - 10 has also just revealed its stage splits (pic above) for this year's fest. The band features Dillon Squire (lead vocals, rhythm and lead guitar) whose father, guitarist John Squire, will headline T in the Park on Friday July 8 with The Stone Roses. With festival-worthy tunes including I’m a Liar, Lonely Mind and Trust You they will rock the T Break Stage this summer.
Having supported fellow T in the Park act The Last Shadow Puppets last night in Newcastle, and also joining Turner and Kane this evening for their Leicester show, Scottish five-piece The Lapelles are on the rise. Recently released track, Grab Life By was hailed by NME as possessing the “youthful swagger of Catfish and the Bottlemen”, with national airplay also secured from Radio X – catch them on the T Break Stage on Sunday 10th July.
Hey! Hello! are an international power-pop band formed by English singer-songwriter Ginger Wildheart. The band’s single How I Survived The Punk Wars was championed by Guns ‘n’ Roses’ Duff McKagan who commented in his Seattle weekly blog that the track was “perhaps the best and most real punk rock song in a long, long time. It actually stunned me”.
They’ll bring their melodic tunes to T in the Park this summer.

TENNENT'S CANS FLYING INTO YOUR DOOR

Tennent’s latest venture, which is guaranteed to take off, will ensure you always have a pint when you need one.
From today (April 1st), the brewer will be offering Tennent’s Rapid, an exclusive airborne service delivering a 4-pack of Tennent’s Lager cans direct from Wellpark Brewery within 30 minutes, by drone.
Customers will be able to place their Tennent’s Rapid orders via www.tennents.com/rapid.
The brand has been piloting ‘NBN’, the latest in drone technology. Customers who place their order online just need to enter their delivery location and the drones’ “Need Beer Now” technology will do the rest.
Tennent’s Rapid delivers direct to your exact location, meaning that even customers who live in top floor flats will receive their four pack straight to their window. Applications have also been placed with local authorities across Scotland to allow for special ‘Taps Aff’ deliveries to Scotland’s green spaces over the summer months.

MON THE BIFF: BIFFY CLYRO ANNOUNCE GLASGOW SUMMER SESSIONS

SCOTS rockers Biffy Clyro will play their biggest headline show to date at this year’s Glasgow Summer Sessions.
Simon Neil and the lads will play Bellahouston Park on Saturday August 27.
The news comes just days before the lads reveal their new single on Radio 1 this Monday.
They recently spent time in Los Angeles recording their seventh studio album, and their Glasgow Summer Sessions will see them perform here for the first time since their three consecutive night run at Glasgow Barrowland in 2014, which saw the band play two albums per night.
Biffy said: "We are delighted to be playing our biggest ever headline show in Glasgow in August. We're gonna bring all the Bellahoustons and whistles and give us all a night we'll never forget."
Over 35,000 fans are expected to welcome the home-grown heroes back to the city festival with a full supporting bill – headed up by Fall Out Boy – to be announced over the coming months.
An adrenaline-charged set is on offer similar to Biffy Clyro’s headline performance at T in the Park 2014.
As well as chants of Mon The Biff fans can expect classics like Many of Horror, That Golden Rule, Mountains and new material from their upcoming seventh album.

AMY MACDONALD RECORDS AT LEGENDARY ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS

AMY Macdonald has been making sweet music at the home of the Beatles - the famed Abbey Road studios.
The Scots singer is due to release her fourth album after selling more than 9 million albums around Europe.
 Fans have been clamouring for new tracks since her last album Life In A Beautiful Light was released in June 2012.
Since January Amy has been  teasing fans about putting the finishing touches to her songs for her latest offering and even told them she had one of her highest vocals ever on a song.
She said at one point: "Thoughts from today's studio session... Why do I always write songs that are so bloody hard to sing?!? Highest vocal ever!! #album4."
She later told them: "Got a load more final vocals to do on #album4 this week and next. Also have some time booked to record at Abbey Road. How cool?!
Despite leaving her beloved dog Arnold behind in Scotland, she made good progress on Valentine's Day and revealed she was two thirds of the way into finishing the project.

Returning home four days later she said: "It's such a nice feeling going home when you've been away for a bit! Album sounding Ah-may-zing! I'm not biased at all...
Amy returned to Abbey road at the start of this month along with her backing vocalist and producers and by the looks of things she's almost finished.
The star is playing lots of new live shows this summer so could a cheeky wee appearance at T in The Park be on the cards?
She recently said she was eyeing up a Bugati Chiron, the world's fastest road car, but claimed she had to finish her album before even contemplating it..

Maybe she'll come to Strathallan all revved up.

CALVIN GIVES TAYLOR CAKE AND LOCKET FOR ANNIVERSARY

CALVIN Harris and Taylor Swift celebrated their one year anniversary by having their cake and eating it.
The two musical lovebirds met at The Elle Style Awards 12 months ago after their mutual pal Ellie Goulding introduced them to one another.
It might have been Mother's Day yesterday but it was more like lovers day for Scots producer and UberDJ Calvin who decided to get Taylor something extra sweet to celebrate their time together.
He posted up a video on Snapchat of the said chocolate cake with white icing spelling 1 Year and two jelly red hearts and as Taylor nodded happily he said: "One year. We got a one year cake, one year."

The pressie came as fans speculated whether the couple had become engaged after Taylor sported a new ring on her finger in recent pictures.
In actual fact Taylor was rocking a new piece of jewellery instead late last night, She showed off a beautiful golden locket with the date 3.6.15 to mark the original date she and Calvin got together ,along with the message 'One year down!"

PAOLO DOESN'T NEED TO SCREAM AFTER SPLIT

 PAOLO Nutini didn't seem like he needed to Scream at the T in the Park launch despite reports that he recently split from his girlfriend Amber Anderson. 
 The Pencil Full of Lead and New Shoes singer was in a jovial mood as he mingled with muso pals including Voice star Stevie McCrorie and his brother Paul  at the bash in Glasgow's St Luke's church last Friday night.
After T in the Park boss Geoff Ellis and Tennent's head of sponsorship George Kyle made speeches, the talented Paisley lad who was clad in denim even took time out to have a giggle with The Showbiz Lion about the length of his hair, joking that he was turning into biblical character Samson. 
Paolo, 29, is reported by The Mirror to have split from 26 year old model Amber after their romance 'fizzled out'. 
The two started dating at Glastonbury in 2014 after Amber passionately made out with him in a bath in his raunchy video Diana, but the Caustic Love singer has obviously taken heed of his album title to turn to pastures new. 

CRAIG DAVID HEADS TO T IN THE PARK

COMEBACK king Craig David can't wait to appear at  Scotland's T in the Park fifteen years after he last played the SECC in Glasgow.
Slicker Than Average hitmaker Craig, who has been working with  Big Narstie and teasing us about a possible mixtape with Drake of late, made a big name for himself at the start of  the noughties with hits like Fill Me In and 7 Days.
After performing on the latest series of The x Factor, and recently inking a new deal with Insanity Records he's ready to perform again for his Scottish fans at Strathallan Park this summer with a taste of his TS5 show.
TS5 began as an  exclusive pre party in his Miami Penthouse known as Tower Suite 5 and it proved to be so successful Craig turned it into a radio show before selling out to crowds around the world.
He's sure to impress the T partiers on the Sunday with some old skool anthems mixed with current chart topping house.
He'll be joining headliners including the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Calvin Harris, the Stone Roses, and talents like Bastille, Faithless, Travis, Jess Glynne, Tinie Tempah, Frightened Rabbit, Jake Bugg, The 1975 and James Morrison at the fest which takes place from July 8 -10. 
James Morrison who also recently returned to the fore with new album Higher Than Here said of the fest: "I've played T in the Park only a few times but it's always wicked, the crowds are amazing with massive energy! Last time I sang a lot harder because of it and this time is going to be no different. I'm ready to give back the same. Can't wait, see you soon T in the Park."
