A GLASGOW KISS AUTHOR SOPHIE GRAVIA RECKONS MARK WRIGHT IS MIGHTY FINE ROMANTIC LEAD

BESTSELLING Scots author Sophie Gravia reckons Mark Wright would make a ‘mighty fine’ romantic lead in any potential future production based on her racy books.
The Scots nurse, who has become Amazon’s number one author and has had major interest from production companies about the filming of her novels, including A Glasgow Kiss, met Mark at a ladies day in Ingliston Estate and Country Club in Bishopton near Glasgow.
After enjoying her afternoon tea at the venue which also welcomes Denise Van Outen for a Discolicious lunch on August 27, the two talents met up backstage and posed together for a picture.
Sophie told fans who are desperate for an adaptation of her book of her meeting with the former TOWIE star : “I can't be the only one thinking @wrighty_ would play a mighty fine Tom Adams?
“Had THE BEST day @inglistoncountryclub for ladies day! The most stunning venue and only 20mins from the city centre.
“Mark was unbelievable and the full place was buzzing!”

Fans of the author were quick to add their own thoughts about her new casting.
One said: “ Sugar Daddy right there.”
Another added: “ Pleaseee let this be a teaser of a film or series!!!”
And a third replied: “ Well..... there's a thought.”
But a fourth added: “No please don't ruin his image in my head.”
Sophie’s debut novel, A Glasgow Kiss, published in December 2020, quickly became a word-of-mouth global sensation, reaching the number one spot on Amazon and surpassing the popularity of the Fifty Shades of Gray.

Following the tremendous success of her first book, Sophie released What Happens in Dubai, in August 2022 which also soared to the top of the charts and her latest Meet Me In Milan has reached the number one top spot again in pre orders ahead of August 17.

SUE PERKINS SAYS SHE WONT TRAVEL TO SOME COUNTRIES FOR SAFETY

Beverley Lyons
FORMER Bake off presenter Sue Perkins claims she has been asked to go to Iran, Iraq and Saudi for telly work - but won’t go because she’s a gay woman.
Sue was speaking at Edinburgh Book Festival when she revealed she refused to travel to the countries which would put her in personal danger.
She said: “I’ve been offered of late some dangerous places to go to for tv.
“I don’t think there is anywhere that ethically I’d find difficult because I would challenge it.
“I’d have no problem in going into difficult regimes or places and posing questions.
But increasingly, and it’s an age thing, I’ve bewilderingly at this stage in life become quite fond of personal safety and I’ve always been very very reckless, very very cavalier.
I’ve been offered to go to Iran, Iraq, and Saudi, and I’ve said no because as a gay woman it would be, for me, too dangerous. I’d love to go because there are so many questions I have and people I’d like to meet.”
Sue who has written a book about her experiences in Cambodia called East of Croydon, also revealed her next telly travel show will see her travelling to Mexico.
She added: “We’re going to Mexico - we’re not touching hugely on cartel land but there are some cartel issues and I belt and braces check I’m going to be safe, because what’s the point of me not being safe? What you as a viewer are looking at is a presenter who is stressed, not some interesting Mexican people.
My job is to show you interesting Mexican people.
The presenter also revealed she considered adopting a Kolkatan child with her partner Naked attraction star Anna Richardson in 2017.
The presenter, who has since sponsored Rakhi, who she met while making a show about street kids - and got Rakhi into boarding school so she is looked after for the rest of her life said: “It’s too dark for me to discuss here but it was one of the most profoundly painful things I’ve been through  in life. Had she been orphaned I used to have dreams of adopting her. Every night she would have been most welcome in my spare room.”

EXCLUSIVE PICS OF TRAINSPOTTING STAR EWEN BREMNER IN NEW CREATION MOVIE

THESE are the first on set pictures in Glasgow of Alan McGee’s new Creation Stories movie about his life and signing of Britain’s biggest Rock band of all time Oasis.
The film which documents the story of how East Kilbride born former British Rail store clerk Alan, now 58, rose to fame as  Scotland’s most successful music mogul working with bands like Jesus and The Mary Chain and Primal Scream began shooting its famous scenes in Glasgow this week with Trainspotting actor Ewen Bremner in the lead role of McGee.
As well as filming at music venue King Tuts Wah Wah Hut where Alan first discovered Manchester lads Liam and Noel Gallagher in May 1993 after they demanded to be added to the line up alongside the band Alan was meant to be seeing, scenes also took place at Glasgow’s Necropolis graveyard and the city centre’s Hope Street.
The biopic produced by Danny Boyle with a script by Irvine Welsh will follow the life of Alan and the highs and lows of a career that took him to 10 Downing Street as an ambassador for Cool Britannia but also saw him nearly die from a drugs overdose.
It will also tell of his bemusement at having US President Bill Clinton staying over at his home – and his encounter with disgraced DJ Jimmy Savile at the Chequers residence of the Prime Minister.
Far from portraying a sanitised version of his life, the new film depicts beatings McGee received from his father as well as his preoccupation with the occult.
In scenes shot in the Necropolis this week Ewen Bremner can be seen carrying a book of rituals after performing a ceremony in his cloak and hat at the graveyard.
Alan has long had a fixation with occultist Alistair Crowley and said: ”It’s like religion to me. Everyone told me not to get into him. And then I went away and read the books and found he was a genius. I started doing magic and it started working for me. So I was like: F*ck, this is amazing.”
It also sees a young McGee played by former Waterloo actor Leo Flannigan strolling through the graveyard alongside his young wife to be played by Irish actress Seana Kerslake.
Later scenes also see Ewen outside King Tuts embroiled in deep conversation following his discovery of Oasis.
Jason Isaac's, Ed Byrne, Paul Kaye, Perry Benson and Suki Waterhouse also feature in the movie.

HARRY POTTER STYLE BUS TOURS ADD EXTRA SERVICE IN EDINBURGH

A Scots company has had to put on extra tours to meet demand after offering Harry Potter style bus experiences in Edinburgh.
The  Red Bus Bistro company began offering its Wonderful Wizarding Tours to fans of the magic franchise in December last year.
Their vintage double decker bus visits places of interest that inspired the book and film franchise including the Balmoral hotel where JK Rowling finished her last book, the Elephant House cafe where the ideas and books began, Victoria Street, the inspiration for Diagon Alley and other spell binding sights.
Owner Alison Simpson and her team also have included a themed afternoon tea including delights like chocolate frogs, jelly beans, I Can’t Believe Its Not Butterbeer cocktails and Sorcerers Sandwiches.
The tour which lasts ninety minutes was originally trialled last year on Thursdays and Fridays but now Alison has added a Saturday to the schedule and will run the services at 6pm.
She said: “Our wizarding tours have been very popular amongst tourists and families alike. When we began at the tail end of last year we were testing the water and now realise everyone loves a bit of magic in their lives. We can take up to forty people per bus.”
“We have employed an actor turned wizard to deliver our unique tour content and we offer quality bespoke food and drink for our customers.
We’ve even got an offer on just now where every child (under the age of 15) eats free with two adults. We charge £37 per adult and we are constantly evolving how we deliver our experience.”
She added: “We can’t wait to tie in with any upcoming conventions and school holidays. Our Red Bus Bistro offers different experiences for a whole range of customers, including afternoon tea and gin tours, hen nights, party evenings and more sedate sightseeing trips.”

EXAMPLE PLAYS THROUGH PAIN IN GLASGOW WHILE BILLY BOYD MAKES US COMEBACK

Musician Example managed to play through the pain of a knee injury while he was in Glasgow - but he’s had to cancel other gigs.
I caught up with the brill singer, songwriter and producer ahead of his SWG3 gig at his city centre hotel.
He told me he’s written songs here in the past and may be inspired to do it again.
He told fans he’d need to be in Australia where his supermodel wife stays from February 17 until March 4.
He also told one fan to get rid of her boyfriend after she told him he’d dislocated his knee and couldn’t walk to go to his concert.
Surely there some irony in that.

Musician and author Scott Cowie has just penned his latest book and invited Val Cleminson, of the Sensational Alex HarveyBand to perform on his launch night.
Things You Won’t Believe About Music is launched at the Blue Arrow on March 5. The book is also illustrated by fellow musician Martin Kelly.
I’ve had a sneaky peak and did you know Music makes plants grow faster, Prince played 27 instruments on his debut album and Music was once an Olympic sport.

Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd thrilled fans of Greys Anatomy Stateside. The former hobbit donned a kilt, bagpipes and Scottish accent for his time on the show with Kevin Mckidd who was also directing. Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame was also on the show. Billy said it was a real treat to be on the series.
American fans are now clamouring for the star to appear in more shows over there.

JUDY MURRAY’S BLAZE DRAMA IN GLASGOW

ANDY and Jamie Murray’s famous mum Judy was at the centre of a blaze drama this week.
The famous mummy who is also a Strictly Star was giving her talk to an audience at the Theatre Royal when the alarm went off at the venue.
I was in the crowd and there was sudden panic on everyone’s faces as it dawned on everyone they had to get out of their seats.
As Judy and her interviewer rushed off the stage, we scrambled to get to an exit and the safety curtain came down on the stage. It was all very rushed and as we exited the theatre we were told to stand in the other side of the road.
Judy herself remained composed as she stood beside the fire engine that arrived on the scene.
Thankfully it was a false alarm  and after thirty minutes of waiting outside we were ushered back in.
Judy and her interviewer joked that someone might write a headline about her being carried to safety by six burly fire fighters. They also joked that more people had entered the building than had left.

She told theshowbizlion.com later: “We've had a great evening even though the fire alarm went off midway through the second half which was a bit of a challenge but they came really quickly and we sorted it out and everyone got back in.”
