SIR BILLY HAS NEW DOG FOR LOCKDOWN

SIR Billy Connolly has posed with a new dog he has adopted through lockdown - and his wife Pamela Stevenson says the pampered pooch’s favourite place to hide is inside his shirt.
Pamela posted up the latest picture of Glasgow born comedian Billy on Twitter with his latest fur baby as she let fans know that he was safe and well despite Coronavirus hitting all over the world.
Billy, 77, who is at his home in Australia looked relaxed and healthy as he wore a black T-shirt and shade and showed off his tattooed arms in the sunshine.
He lovingly held Rascal who is said to be a toy poodle or chipoo with an injured leg.
Pamela wrote: “Billy’s brave new pal. That broken leg is not stopping him for a second...“
The picture of cuteness attracted so many comments from fans of the funny man. Many asked after his health following his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2013.
Pamela followed up by telling them: “Thanks for all your questions! Replies: Yes Billy is doing well and staying safe thank you!
No idea on the breed. Toy Poodle maybe Chipoo? - name is Rascal. Likes resting inside Billy’s teeshirt.”
Rascal, who was compared to a teddy bear by Pamela's followers, is the latest furry addition to Billy’s home. In a similar post in November, Billy was seen with another pooch in his arms and Pamela told followers online: “Billy just adopted a rescue pal! The savage beast is called Lincoln.”
The picture of Billy and his new puppy is the first since coronavirus lockdown and comes after the comedian reportedly said in March that he wasn’t concerned over Covid 19.
He said at the time: “It’s very weird. It seems like it’s not really happening. I’m not concerned. Maybe I would if there were screeching up the street or people were grabbed and hustled away. I don’t know what is going on. Everybody seems bewildered. Even the experts seem bewildered on the telly.”

ARIANA GRANDE AND BILLY CONNOLLY IN GLASGOW HOTEL DRAMA

Beverley Lyons
ARIANA Grande was caught up in drama along with Billy Connolly after the fire alarm sounded at her Scots hotel.
The US singer was staying at the stylish Blythswood hotel in Glasgow when the fire alarm sounded earlier today and she ended up being forced to evacuate her penthouse.
Ariana, who was staying with her two dogs at the hotel inside the two and a half thousand pound suite, was less than enamoured after the alarm sounded.
She later posted an Instagram video of her putting her middle finger up to the alarm on her ceiling as it flashed and sounded its noisy siren.
Ariana asked the question ‘Why’ as it appeared to wake her up just after ten thirty am.
Pitbull cross Myron and beagle chihuahua cross Toulouse even got their own room at the £2,500-a-night penthouse suite at the Blythswood where she was staying — which comes complete with a sunken-bath Jacuzzi, sauna and roof garden.
The pop princess who was using the back entrance of the hotel was not the only star staying at the city centre hotel when the incident happened.
Sir Billy Connolly was also staying in one of the suites and was forced to come down from his room.
One hotel guest Dr Martin Valentine wrote on Twitter: ”Meeting abandoned temporarily as fire alarm has gone off and the Blythswood hotel is emptied. On the plus side the Big Yin is here too check out his groovy shoes.”
Another hotel guest Deborah Maclachlan Dougall told the showbizlion.com The disturbance only lasted around ten minutes. She laughed: “Everyone in the spa had to evacuate as well as the hotel guests. It was quite funny seeing Billy Connolly out with the rest of us. Only us would be standing wrapped up in just our robes and towels with Billy Connolly walking past us.”

BILLY CONNOLLY LOOKING FIT IN HONG KONG BEFORE JETSETTING TO NEW YORK TARTAN WEEK

Beverley Lyons

Sir Billy Connolly met up with Scottish former rugby union player Doddie Weir in Hong Kong ahead of his appearance at New York’s tartan day celebrations this weekend.
And Sir Billy was looking dapper as he chatted with MND sufferer Doddie at the fundraising dinner in Hong Kong’s Grand Hyatt hotel.
Players past and present joined the Big Yin and Humungous one as revellers endearingly referred to them.
Amongst those promoted to attend the bash were Scott Hastings, Andy Goode, Brian O Driscoll and Gregor Townsend.
In a photo posted on Twitter,  Sir Billy looked dapper in his black tux and chose to go tieless with his white shirt for the occasion while Doddie opted for his now famous tartan suit.
One of the dinner guests commented: “Billy was in great spirits and very happy to be there. He and Doddie has a great chat and Billy entertained guests with his answers during the Q and A session.”
Scottish artist Gerard Burns had painted a portrait of Doddie in the suit which raised almost £100,000 at the event.

The dinner, attended by around 500 guests, was organised by the Scottish business community based in Hong Kong as a precursor to the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens on April 5-7. More than £300,000 was raised in total by the event.
The new pictures will come as a surprise to many fans who thought that Billy’s health was ailing.

The 76 year old was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012 and has been pictured looking frailer and more subdued than the larger than life character we have come to expect.

Billy who also had to have his prostate removed following a cancer diagnosis several years ago and has joked in the past about his shaky hand, over which he has little control, admitted in a BBC documentary in January that his diagnosis with the degenerative brain condition meant he was now "at the wrong end of the telescope of life".

Billy said at the time: "My life is slipping away and I can feel it and I should. I'm 75 and I'm a damn sight nearer the end than I am the beginning.

"But it doesn't frighten me - it's an adventure and it's quite interesting to see myself slipping away, as bits slip off and leave me, talents leave and attributes leave.

"It's as if I'm being prepared for something, some other adventure, which is over the hill. I've got all this stuff to lose first, and then I'll be at the shadowy side of the hill doing the next episode in the spirit world."

Sir Michael Parkinson also said in 2018 that Billy had trouble recognising him, a claim that Sir Billy has since dismissed.

Sir Michael, 83,  said at the time: “His wonderful brain has dulled. I saw him recently – he's now living in America – and it was very sad, because I was presenting him with a prize at an award ceremony [...] We had an awkward dinner together, because I wasn't quite sure if he knew who I was or not."

It certainly seems that Billy is not ready to give into the debilitating illness - as he jetsets round the world for a busy year of public engagements.

BILLY CONNOLLY BUSY DUSTING BOOKS ON TRIP HOME TO GLASGOW

BILLY Connolly was in fine fettle as he  met up with his daughter in Scotland  - and he claims he's 'busy dusting off his library books' at the moment, if anyone's asking.
The Big Yin took his daughter out for dinner at Italian restaurant Fratelli Sarti in Glasgow on a flying visit home.
Asked if he was up for the Glasgow Comedy Festival, he said no, but he did admit to liking fellow comedian Janey Godley's paintings.
Billy, who looked relaxed as he strolled out the eaterie, said he was happy to receive his NTA award recently and added with a smile, that he'd put it with the rest of them.
He also revealed his famous Billy Connolly voice was inspired by the Partick accent.
Billy was not the only celeb hanging around the area. The Irish band Stiff Little Fingers were also in the restaurant filling up their boots before their annual gig at the Barrowlands on March 17.
