SABRINA CARPENTER AND GRACIE ABRAMS HIT GLASGOW

TWO US superstars missed one another by seconds as they arrived and exited the same hotel in Glasgow at the same time.
Sabrina Carpenter who played the Ovo Hydro on Tuesday has been staying in the Penthouse of Glasgow’s Blythswood hotel alongside her entourage.
The singer admitted to her fans today that she is ill ‘sick like dog’ but still can’t wait to play Glasgow despite being holed up in her room since yesterday.
And Gracie Abrams, the daughter of director JJ Abrams who recently toured with Taylor Swift, who plays the Hydro on Wednesday, arrived at the hotel shortly after lunchtime.
As she went in the side door emerging from her tour bus, Sabrina made an escape from the back of the stylish five star hotel by black people carrier.
Gracie was keen to hide under a mask but you could still see her smile under the black cloth as fans called out her name.
Gracie visited Glasgow just a week after her father JJ Abrams was also spotted in the city during Glasgow Film Festival.
The singer was also impressed by the Scots scenery on offer as she viewed it from her tour bus as she told fans: “The most beautiful drive ever.”
She is recovering after being forced to cancel two tour dates on the Secret Of Us tour after she was struck down with an illness at the start of the month.

Pulling out of her show in Nottingham just hours before she was due on stage, the 25-year-old singer, who is rumoured to have split from actor Paul Mescal, left fans devastated by the news. Not only did she cancel her Nottingham gig, but she also cancelled her concert that was due to take place in Leeds on Tuesday March 4.
Taking to social media to pen a handwritten note, Gracie - who is often referred to as a nepo-baby, told fans in the statement: "Nottingham + Leeds... I hate that I have to write this again so soon. Unfortunately, I am really still struggling with this illness and have been advised that I cannot perform these next two nights.
"I can’t tell you how much this breaks my heart.”
During Sabrina’s visit she was sent Caribbean ‘Short n Sweet’ tour cakes from Tropical Cafe in Glasgow’s Merchant City.

CHAKA KHAN GETS THE DISCO BALL ROLLING IN GLASGOW

AIN'T nobody does it better than Chaka Khan and the veteran disco queen proved it in more ways than one with a disco balling set at Kelvingrove bandstand.
As the crowds over spilled onto the streets of Kelvin Way, a determined Chaka was on fire as she performed a greatest hits set of her hottest anthems from over the years.
The crowd were always going to be in the palm of this icon's hands on this perfect summer evening which saw Jazzie B warm up the sun blessed crowds with a rhythmical DJ set before Chaka herself took over,
And as she took to the stage with a historic back catalogue the ten time Grammy award winner was a real powerhouse as she effortlessly belted through her hits.
The sound was a mix of disco infused soul and funk which saw Chaka free flow her notes from high to low.
Starting with the funky and smooth Do You Love What You Feel it was only a matter of time before Chaka sprang into hits You Got The Love, and I'm Every Woman, Chaka's original hit in 1978 which was later covered as a huge dance track by the late great Whitney Houston.
Ain't Nobody, complete with lunging dance moves, was rolled out for the witching hour with the audience singing and bopping along to every word.
Us Glasgolians, as Chaka so eloquently called us, knew we were in the presence of greatness as the 64 year old showed us how to do things according to the Queen of Funk.
We didn't want the party to end as we left the West End amphitheatre so we didn't stop. A street sound system gave us the beats as we partied on for an impromptu street fest showing the world that love prevails over evil at a time when terrorist factions are trying to stifle us.

BLIND SIDE ACTOR PRAISES GLASGOW CABS ON SCOTTISH FILM FEST VISIT

THE Blind Side actor Quinton Aaron says he thinks Glasgow cabs are the best because he can fit into them no problem.
The six foot eight actor from the Oscar winning movie with Sandra Bullock was in Scotland for a few days after the European Premiere of his new film Halfway at the Glasgow Film Festival.
Speaking at a reception in the new iMetaFilm office, which digitises old films, he said: "One of the coolest things I've seen in Glasgow is that the taxis are huge here. We got into the taxi and I stepped in the taxi, standing up before sitting down. I was like
'Are you serious?'."
He added: "Scotland smells and looks pretty cool. I see parts of downtown that remind me of different States back home. You get that same feel almost of New York here that I've seen, people just on the move, walking in front of cars."
Halfway tells the story of a black man who had recently been released from prison and working in the white heartland of a family fame in Wisconsin.
It is produced by Edinburgh born Jonny Patterson.

Quinton said: "Jonny is cool. He's like my little little brother. He's super cool to work with and I spent the whole process trying to mimic his accent."

JUSTIN BIEBER IN SCOTLAND'S COLDEST HOUSE

JUSTIN Bieber shunned top hotels to rent out a luxury mansion once known as 'Scotland's coldest house' in the heart of Perthshire for his four day visit to Scotland.
The singing star who plays the SSE Hydro tonight, Saturday and Sunday, is staying in the exquisite Kinross House, a late 17th century country house overlooking Loch Leven near Kinross - where T in The Park festival used to be held.
A tired Justin arrived at the house shortly before 3am this morning after his private Citation Jet landed at Glasgow airport at around one thirty am.
He was met by a fleet of people carriers and his own vehicle was kitted out with a large screen tv to allow him to relax after playing a show in Sheffield Arena.
The screen could be seen flickering as he made his journey to the house where he was met by a team of security who let him in though the huge electric gates.

The house boasts the first grand designed landscape in Scotland with Loch Leven Castle at its centre, a castle steeped in history having played host to Robert the Bruce, Sir William Wallace, John Knox and where Mary Queen of Scots was both imprisoned and abdicated in favour of her son James VI.
The fourteen bedroom house which also has an adjoining coach house with ten ensuite bedrooms and private spa was built in 1686, by the architect Sir William Bruce and is regarded as one of his finest works.
It hosts a formal dining room for up to 32 people - which would suit Justin's sizeable entourage - as well as an extensive whisky library with plenty of spirits on offer.
The house also has The Grand Salon, Garden Room, Gentlemen’s Drawing Room, Ladies' Drawing Room and Library and was called by Robinson Crusoe author Daniel Defoe "the most beautiful and regular piece of Architecture in Scotland".
As undoubtedly the most important early classical mansion in Scotland, it retains most of its original internal decoration and was occupied for 200 years as the home of the Montgomery family, who purchased the property in the late 18th century.
Despite its grandeur, it has been described as "the coldest house in Scotland", as until it was sold by the Montgomery family, it had only four radiators.
In 2010, it was sold for £4.25 million to Donald Fothergill, an English businessman, who thoroughly refurbished the house.
Some reckon it's haunted which would make it the ideal location for a Bieber Halloween party.

X FILES STAR DAVID DUCHOVNY GOES WALKABOUT IN GLASGOW

Exclusive
Beverley Lyons
DAVID Duchovny got juiced up before his gig at Glasgow's O2 ABC tonight - with a trip to a local health food restaurant.
The X Files and Twin Peaks star only has a couple of dates in the UK and was keen to enjoy some of the delights of the city ahead of his concert.
And proving he's nothing like his alcoholic Californication character Hank Moody, he headed to the KCal Kitchen in West Regent Street for an energising green smoothie as he strolled around town.
David, whose mum is from Whitehills near Aberdeen says he loves coming back to Scotland.
He said: "Whenever I'm in Glasgow I'll jump at the chance to wear a kilt whenever I can. My mother is Scottish and I've not been here for twelve or thirteen years."
David who is a fan of the Average White Bend also revealed he's still figuring out his sound as a singer.
He added: "I started playing my guitar five or six years ago to amuse myself. I'm figuring out my sound as a singer. I have a good friend who is a virtuoso guitarist who says maybe one day he'll get back to playing like he was sixteen. I want to get back to that initial passion and curiosity you have as a beginner. As an actor I've done some sure things that turn out to be terrible failures and some terrible things turned into huge successes."

BIFFY CLYRO'S JAMES COVERS UP HIS NAKED SKIN AFTER REVEALING NEW ALBUM COVER

Beverley Lyons
BIFFY Clyro might have got naked for their new album artwork but bassist James Johnston was keen to cover up when he got back to Scotland.
The bearded brother loves his tattoos along with the rest of the group and was keen to complete one of his newest designs.
As soon as he got back from the States he headed straight to the Lucky Cat tattoo parlour in Glasgow for his latest fix.
James chose a very fitting watercolour Scottish thistle tattoo by artist Kevin and had been waiting to get it completed.
The band just released the artwork for their forthcoming album Ellipsis and tomorrow (Tuesday) they will reveal their video for new song Wolves of Winter, the first single off of Ellipsis at 3pm on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/biffyclyro

Simon had previously teased the album cover saying: "I think the artwork for this will shock some people"
He and his bandmates James and Ben Johnston are depicted lining up in the foetal position on the cover.
Their new song Wolves Of Winter is already gaining rave reviews after being played by Zane Lowe.
Simon said of the anthemic song which shows off different studio sounds and techniques: "It feels like the best thing we've ever done. We've found a new verbiage for Biffy Clyro. Wolves of Winter is about us being wolves on a patch and if you come onto that patch, we’ll tear you limb-from-limb.”

LITTLE MIX HAVE A DATE WITH VIP SCOTS DREAMMAKER KIDS

Little Mix invited some very special little guests to their soundcheck at Glasgow's SSE Hydro.

The girls were keen to be on top form for their third sell out show at the venue - and thought the small kids from Les Hoey MBE Dreammaker Foundation might bring them a bit of extra luck.

They invited the nine children to watch them limber up and even held an impromptu question and answer session with them.

Amongst them were Caitlyn Fraser, 15, who suffers Germinoma a type of germ cell tumours in the pituitary gland.

Caitlyn who is one of only forty five in Britain with the condition and has three brain tumours as a result of it said: "It was so good. They were just singing and I was really excited although I feel a bit sick now."

Holly Dunlop ,8, from Livingston was chuffed after she asked two questions at the soundcheck. She said: "The girls were wearing jeans and hoodies, leggings and sweats and were very casual. I'm a big fan and when they asked us if had any questions I asked what song they liked. They said Black Magic. I got their album on my iPod for Christmas and that gets the crowd going because they do it at the end."

"They also said they had six dancers with them."

Nine year old Alisa, and Karly Bodman, six from Elgin were also at the rehearsal. Karly who suffers from acute myeloid leukaemia and had a born marrow transplant two years ago was too shy to ask anything but loved the songs.

The girls were asked by the small gathering if they went out in Glasgow and revealed they'd enjoyed a curry and a spa day before their gig.

Perrie also said her favourite food was haggis and that she auditioned for X factor in Glasgow because Newcastle was cancelled.

The night before the showbizlion.com can exclusively reveal that Jesy, who recently took two days off the tour because of 'ill health', went out for dinner in Glasgow with just her fiancé Jake Roche from the band Rixton.

She and her bandmates have been very emotional recently and fans have been guessing online that she may be pregnant.

The two, who chose to dine separately from the rest of the band, looked a bit dishevelled as they emerged from their black cab and as they walked hurriedly into their hotel Jake admitted they both needed to shower.

A make up free Jesy put on her shades even though it was midnight.

They didn't stop for any fans.

ASHTON KUTCHER AND MILA KUNIS SWAPPED EASTER EGGS FOR RAISINS

ASHTON Kutcher and Mila Kunis gave their daughter raisins and breakfast cereal instead of chocolate eggs for Easter.
The Hollywood actor who is married to Mila Kunis didn't want his 18-month-old daughter to have too much sugar.
He said: "We didn't want to put candy in because she's one and a half and she's not quite ready. We're not quite ready for her to be ready for candy, so we did Cheerios and raisins. She loved the raisins. She was going ape for the raisins."
Ashton and Mila got their knickers in a twist over how to explain the Easter Bunny to their baby.
He explained to Jimmy Kimmel: "We actually were debating whether or not we were going to explain that a bunny was laying eggs. So, we had a legitimate conversation as to whether or not we're going to go down that path. Like, we think we're going Santa Claus, but we don't know about the bunny. It's tough because it's like, 'Why is a bunny laying eggs? Mommy, does a bunny lay eggs?' ... 'No, but the Easter Bunny does.' And then it becomes a whole thing. And what does that have to do with Jesus coming back from the dead?"

CHVRCHES SINGER LAUREN MAYBERRY TALKS RAPE CRISIS AND GLASGOW SSE HYDRO GIG

CHVRCHES singer Lauren Mayberry caught up with theshowbizlion.com to ask fellow Scots to help raise funds for Rape Crisis Glasgow  - ahead of her SSE Hydro gig this weekend.
The newest patron of the charity which provides support for survivors and their families is keen to help the charity raise £50,000 for its 40th anniversary.
The Glasgow centre’s £40 for 40 Years campaign aims to cut waiting lists and increase drop-in sessions after demand for services doubled over the past year.
Lauren said: " I've always known about the organisation  since I moved to Glasgow for uni and it was an established place and promoted to young women at the uni I was at. Anything we can do is very important. Our first step is to raise money for the centre and £40 for 40 is the campaign trying to encourage people  to donate anything they can to help the centre and if they can take the weight off people in the building it would free them up to take people off the waiting list. The faster people can be get access to these services, the better."
Lauren joined Scots author Denise Mina at a breakfast meeting yesterday after the centre received more than 10,500 calls and offered support to more than 800 women.
Having toured extensively Lauren and her bandmates, who recently enjoyed a Top 10 hit in the US with second album, Every Open Eye are currently in Scotland to prepare for the bands big SSE Hydro gig this Saturday.
She said: "We haven't played a hometown show on this album so are very excited to be back for that. This is our biggest Scots gig to date. We had a few nights at Barrowlands which is incredible and this is our biggest one off show so we are really excited to be back . The fact we are back home means we can get involved in things like this. Even though we travel a lot we still identify heavily as Glaswegians and ask other Glaswegians to be as kind as we know they can be and help out the centre. We hope family and friends will be joining us  if they haven't forgotten what we look like.

We will be on tour a lot but you will see us walking the streets at some point when we get some time off.

ADELE GETS CHARITABLE FOR SCOTS GIGS

Adele is making sure charity begins at home before taking to the stage tonight at Glasgow's SSE Hydro.
The 27 year old singer has been a long term supporter of Sands, a UK-based charity dedicated to 'supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.'
Insiders claim she insists that any guest receiving complimentary tickets will be asked to contribute £15 to the charity.
Adele, full name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE, is set to appear on stage at the city's SSE Hydro venue at 8pm this evening and open her concert with Hello.
The sold out gigs tonight and tomorrow ( a few extra tickets just went on sale on ticket master this am) are two of the big dates in this year's music calendar and the venue has been working hard to ensure everything is in order for the star.
Adele's tour rider so far has been kept under wraps but in 2011 she asked for a pack of Marlboro Lights and a disposable lighter, an assortment of chewing gum, and a small plate of 'freshly made, individually wrapped sandwiches' that 'must NOT contain tomatoes, vinegar, chilli or citrus fruit.'
She also requested 'bite-size' chocolate bars, including Twix, Aero, Milky Way, and Mars on her tour bus post gig and organic muesli and six Cereal bars.
Two bottles of the 'very best quality red wine' and 12 bottles of 'best quality European lager beer. ie Becks, Stella Artois, Peroni etc' were also demanded.
This time round Adele is a mum and even took her baby Angelo aka Peanut to her London gig for the first time.
Given that she's a conscientious mother we reckon her rider might be a little less rock n roll this time round.
Adele comes to Glasgow hot on the heels of Mariah Carey who she has referred To as 'biblical'. The two ladies keep missing one another on tour but one day that could be a duet to die for.

FRESH FROM LITTLE MIX DATE IN GLASGOW LAWSON'S ANDY BROWN KNOWS WHAT WOMEN WANT

LAWSON singer Andy Brown reckons he had to get in touch with his feminine side when he was writing the lyrics to new song Money.
Andy who is currently on an HMV signing tour and hits Brighton today, Leeds tomorrow, Gateshead on Wednesday and Edinburgh's Princes Street on Thursday March 24 at 5pm, claims he had to make the song appeal to the band's large female fanbase, so he changed up his original overly-masculine lyrics.
He explained: "I was sort of struggling with the serious lyrics and the first line of chorus initially said 'I'd take you on a world class cruise'. I had to think what girls would prefer and realised they'd prefer shoes first so I put that in as a priority and the line reads ' give you every pair of shoes.' I still mention the cruise but you have to think what a woman likes when you are writing these songs and get inside a girl's head."
The song Money was inspired by Andy's life when he was unsigned and touring around with the rest of the lads in an old van, absolutely skint. He said: " We used to sing 'Where's the money?!' after driving 100's of miles to play to ten people.
He added: "There's always a big song about money and when you think about it over the years Bruno Mars wrote Billionaire, Alloe Blacc had I Need A Dollar and Jessie J sang All About The Money. People relate to it."
Circumstances have obviously changed for Lawson as a band and now they are in demand around the globe four years on from writing top 5 debut album Chapman Square and performing at festivals including T in the Park in the process, but Andy is not quite in the Millionaire's Club just yet.
He laughed: "You don't make as as much as you think making music now. It's not as much as it used to be to be honest. If I won the lottery this weekend I'd take mum and dad on holiday and get a private jet and have fun and treat people to things."
The lads played Glasgow on Saturday when they stepped in at the eleventh hour to replace Nathan Sykes as support on the Little Mix tour.
Andy was chuffed to bits to play the SSE Hydro, He said: "We've always had amazing gigs in Glasgow and when we started out we played the 02 ABC in a really small room. We even played King Tuts when we first started - to fifty people - and since we've headlined the Academy in Glasgow and now this. We feel like we're just starting and have so much more to do."

The respected vocalist was at the Scottish Variety Awards in Glasgow's Crowne Plaza when the conversation turned towards the comedy take off of the hit Chess song which saw Peter play her role opposite Susan Boyle's Elaine Paige.
