LEWIS CAPALDI GETS HIS FOURTH NUMBER ONE SINGLE

LEWIS Capaldi has done it again as the Scots born global superstar  today scores his fourth UK number 1 single with ‘Pointless’, equalling the likes of Whitney Houston, Cher, Jay-Z, One Direction, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Busted, B*Witched & Pet Shop Boys.

Theshowbizlion.com has followed Lewis since the early days of his singing life and ‘Pointless’ follows his previous three number 1’s inSomeone You Loved (2019), Before You Go (2020), and Forget Me (2022), and is the second single from his upcoming second studio album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent - out May 19th on EMI Records.

"Thank you so much if you have streamed, downloaded or listened to ‘Pointless’ in any way, it really means a lot.” says Lewis. “This is my fourth UK Number 1, I now have the same amount of Number 1s as B*Witched, so pretty f*cking good if you ask me! I know there's a cost of living crisis, so thank you for spending your money on my music."

Lewis recently performed the new ballad at this year's Strictly Come Dancing semi-finals show HERE, and on The Graham Norton Show.

‘Pointless’ arrives as one of his earliest compositions for the new album, written on the first day with Steve Mac. With Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid also on the session, the trio were working on one song (“which hasn’t made the cut”) when Lewis’ collaborators mentioned a verse they’d previously begun writing with Ed Sheeran

Recently, Capaldi was announced as one of the headliners for Reading & Leeds Festival 2023, as well as unveiling his biggest outdoor headline summer shows to date in Manchester, Edinburgh & Belfast . The announcements came after he sold out his upcoming 2023 UK arena tour in seconds, which kicks off this Saturday in Leeds. The overwhelming demand for him doesn’t stop there, recently being crowned the ‘King Of Streaming’ with his global hit single ‘Someone You Loved’ becoming the UK’s most streamed song of ALL TIME.

If his first album made him an international star, with his second it’s nothing less than superstardom that beckons. His return has shown that the insatiable appetite for Capaldi burns as bright as ever.

LEWIS CAPALDI RETURNS AFTER THREE YEARS WITH CHARTTOPPER

LEWIS Capaldi has returned after three years away from us all - and he’s topped the charts again.

The Scottish superstar, who gives BeyoncĂ© a run for her money, has returned in style as his new single ‘Forget Me’ rockets straight to the top of the UK singles chart, making it his third UK number 1 single.

Lewis becomes just the third artist this year to have a single go straight in at Number 1 in its first week, alongside Harry Styles (‘As It Was’) and Dave (‘Starlight’), and also marks ‘Forget Me’ as just the eighth number one UK single of 2022.

From announcing the single via a TikTok live stream during the closing night of his two sold-out London’s O2 Arena shows, ‘Forget Me’ arrived with high anticipation from the start, smashing ten million streams in just a few days, surpassing his own week 1 streaming record on hits ‘Someone You Loved & ‘Before You Go’.

Fans across the world have connected with the new track in their droves, confirming that the insatiable appetite for Capaldi burns as bright as ever.

Then came a true spectacle of a music video that saw Lewis re-enact Wham’s 1983 hit ‘Club Tropicana’ shot-for-shot which, in not even a week of existence, has already gone viral and racked up over four million views.

This is just the start of the next chapter in Lewis Capaldi’s career, picking up exactly where he left off and now equalling Adele in accomplishing a hat-trick of UK Number 1 singles. With his welcome, entertaining return to social media and more exciting news on the way, it's a joy to have the quick-witted hitmaker back as he sits on the cusp of becoming one of the biggest stars on the planet.

NATHAN EVANS GOES HITCHHIKING IN GLENCOE FOR LATEST VIDEO

Wellerman hitmaker and multi-platinum British breakthrough singer-songwriter Nathan Evans went climbing in Glencoe for his brand new video.
Nathan released the official video for latest single, “Told You So” via Polydor; the same single that Zoe Ball, OJ Borg and Sara Cox on BBC Radio 2 have championed since its inception.
The official video opens with Nathan standing on the side of the road in Glen Coe hitchhiking across various idyllic locations across Scotland in a bid to get home.

Nathan eventually reaches his hometown of Airdrie, assembling a cast of his genuine family and friends to whom he performs an intimate gig. The new video marks Evans’ arrival: a transition from TikTok to international pop-stardom and is available to watch  [HERE].

To celebrate the release of the video, Nathan says: “Thank you, guys, so much on all the support so far with Told You So It has been so overwhelming but also absolutely amazing. Some of the locations in the new music video are beautiful. We spent nearly a full day down by Loch Lomond and a place called Arrochar, and the footage just looks amazing. Loch Lomond is always beautiful. We also went back to my roots and spent a good day filming in Airdrie to get a good sense of home in there too, it looks outstanding. I cannot wait for you all to see the new video! Personally, I love it and hope you all love it just as much as I do!”

The release of his new video for the single that went onto chart in the Top 10 of the Music Moves Europe Talent charts follows the global success of “Wellerman”, the biggest selling domestic single of 2021 in the UK so far and first Scottish artist to have a debut #1 since 2007. Leading a new cultural movement of sea shanties, Nathan went onto to score a #1 in 10 countries including the UK while clocking up well over a staggering half a billion streams, quickly becoming the biggest Global hit from a British artist in 2021. It caught the attention of Brian May and Andrew Lloyd Webber with appearances around the globe on the likes of Good Morning America, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The BRITs and The Kelly Clarkson Show.

In high demand, Nathan is set to play his first festival appearance on the main stage in front of 60,000 people at TRNSMT in Glasgow on 11 September where he will be in good company alongside NME Award winner Liam Gallagher and fellow Scots Primal Scream. Pre Covid he was performing to 60 people! LEWIS CAPALDI GETS CAPITAL RADIO BOSSES WORRIED AHEAD OF SHOW

Beverley Lyons
LEWIS Capaldi has already got the bosses of Capital Radio worried about his forthcoming appearance on the new station.
Breakfast show presenters Roman Kemp, Vick Hope and Sonny Jay revealed that Lewis is one of the first big names lined up for when they take over the Scottish airwaves on April 8 - and they admitted they’re already worried about what he might say.
Ronan who was in the city’s Malmaison to launch the new national takeover of the Breakfast show previously presented by Des Clarke and Jennie Cook claimed: “When we do go national one of our first live guests is Lewis Capadli and when he is on the show I’ve got to have the quickest hands in radio to reach for my bleep button.”
Lewis is known for uttering the odd expletive and recently did so at the Brits. He also likes to talk about toilet functions a lot.
Ronan, whose father is Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet and Eastenders game added:  “When you bring a real artist like that, someone who people have literally seen from start to finish or to where he is now it’s more interesting to have that than a robotic voice that has said stuff a million times.”
Sonny admitted that the station were concerned. He added: “I’m going to call it now. He’s going to get us in a lot of trouble. It’s not a challenge though Lewis.”
The trio believe that Lewis night even give former guests Miley Cyrus and Love Islands Chris Hughes a run for their money.
Miley got her bum slapped on Capital and talked about finishing a joint at the MTV awards as well as playing a dodgy game of Mr and Mrs with Mark Ronson.
Love Islands Chris Hughes revealed he’d sent some dodgy DMs live on the breakfast show.
Vicky said: “The two biggest bits of trouble we’ve got in from artists that have said something on air they shouldn’t have done when we were going live could not be further apart. Miley Cyrus got us into trouble and Chris Hughes from Love Island got us into trouble. Those two between them have done the worst. Lewis Capaldi may very well top them.”
The presenters enjoyed their flying visit to Scotland to meet up with Drivetime presenter Garry Spence. They say they can’t wait to return, join in with some more Scots hospitality and bring some of their celebrity friends with them next time they are up.
