POST MALONE SWAPS CIGARETTES, GEEKS OUT ON CAR ON GLASGOW WALKABOUT

POST Malone went on walkabout, swapped cigarettes and got excited about a fans car outside a steak restaurant in Glasgow ahead of his SSE Hydro show.
And the US rapper was relaxed and chatty as he took his time to chat with passers-by outside the Mini Grill restaurant.
The talent, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, admitted he’d neither tried haggis or porridge on his trip to Scotland, but had thoroughly enjoyed the steak dinner he was served up at the city centre restaurant.
He said:  “Scotland and the people are amazing and I haven’t had a chance to try haggis or porridge yet but we had an amazing meal at the steak restaurant.”
Petrolhead Post then got excited as he was shown a grey 2022 Cupra Formentor VZ2 TSI 4Drive S-A which was parked outside the restaurant which he later branded ‘beautiful’. He was keen to know who designed it and if it ran in electric or petrol. He said: “This is beautiful. Who designed it. It’s so sick.”
He added: “What’s the price range? The interiors are beautiful too. Does this take gas or electric? Thanks for showing me it.”

Malone has owned around 15 cars throughout his career, including a Bugatti, a pair of McLarens and Lamborghinis each, and three Rolls-Royces which come it at considerably more than a Cupra.
He did end up selling some of his cars, but his collection is still one of the most unique ones out there
As he walked away another fan asked if he could swap one of Posts cigarettes for one of of his own and the rapper happily obliged.
He also waved animatedly to other fans in the busy street who called out his name and told him they loved him.

SIMPLE MINDS JIM KERR PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE FATHER JIMMY

JIM Kerr has paid a touching tribute to his late dad Jimmy who passed away just before he and Simple Minds embark on a 40th anniversary world tour and live album.
Sunday soundtrack radio host Ricky Ross admitted he didn’t expect Jim Kerr to come into his Sunday morning BBC show following the tragic news.
Rocky told Jim: “You’ve come in and I didn’t expect you to come in today. You’ve been looking after your dad the last two months and sadly he’s gone.”
Jim replied: “Don’t make me cry Ricky. People will be turning off. Let’s cut to the chase - my dad was a big fan of your show, a big fan of radio and a great great reader as well. You ticked a lot of boxes for him because you are a country show. That was his music. My dad would tell me you’ve got to check this and that. Only two weeks ago dad told me about the show you’d done then and Willie Haughey was on it.
“There’s no way dad would have accepted me not coming in here and it’s a pleasure to see you here. ”
Jim then said of his dad: “Dad was eighty three and I’m so lucky. He was just the greatest dad and I feel very fortunate to be born, that was my dad and he was also my best pal and a great great influence.
He was a brickies labourer all his life. He was a strong guy. Perhaps uncommon or maybe not when you think of a lot of the shipyard guards, he was very keen on educating himself.
”Although he could mix it with the rest of the labourers and go to the pub and football he had his head in a book from Monday to Friday. The only person Who can read as much is my other best pal Charlie Burchill.
Jom said his dad taught him how to dream: “My dad, there was a great curiosity in him to know about world beyond the end of his street. Unfortunately his generation you couldn’t just decided you were going to Nepal and they had to knuckle down and thanks to them we were allowed to dream bigger.  My dad would point me out a window and say ‘over there is Africa’.
I think that is the most quality - to dream big or to imagine big. The idea of being a dreamer or have your heads in clouds was once a derogatory thing. But I realised it’s the most potent thing ever. It all begins with imagination. Sitting here all these  years later  I’m bewildered that the things we had came to pass.”
Jim also told of the moment his dad realised he would do well as a musician.
He laughed: “My dad also gave up drinking a long time ago but when we were starting the band he was in a period where he had to go to the meetings and he was trying to sort himself out. It was more a subtle thing. He wasn’t happy and we were up and down in vans and going here there and everywhere. I didn’t have much dialogue with him for around a two year period. Dad didn’t grasp it but finally we got to play in Glasgow in Tiffany’s and it was a big deal to sell it out. Mum and dad were coming but dad went to the pub first and mum got fed up waiting and went to the gig herself. Dad wasn’t drunk but he didn’t go home and still had his working gear on and mum would have been humiliated. We did the gig. What a night.
“ I saw him the next day - Saturday morningHe made breakfast the next morning and he was a wee bit sheepish and he said ‘you are going to make it. You are going to be a big big band’. He said ’I was watching this one guy last night and he was in the queue and dancing and he got his chips and you started this song The American and he threw them up in the air and ran down. Anybody that can get people to do that. That’s a talent.’
That was his version of the old grey whistle test.”

After being dropped off at the city’s George Square,  had dinner in the Anchor Line bar and restaurant.

FORD KIERNAN TALKS ABOUT THE AGONY HE ENDURED AFTER STILL GAME LIVE SHOW

Exclusive
Beverley Lyons
STILL Game’s Ford Kiernan has spoken for the first time about the agony and pain he endured before having to go under the surgeons knife following his last run of shows at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro.
The comedian and actor who will star as Jack alongside Greg Hemphill’s Victor as well as actors including Jane McCarry, Paul Riley, and Sanjeev Kohli in Still Game Live: The Final Farewell stage show from September 27 until October 13, endured a complex back operation following his run of shows in 2017.
Asked about any luxuries he’d indulged in since having success with his comedy, Ford said: “The starriest thing that I’ve done is that I had two of my vertebrae removed and never waited on the National Health to give me a date for it. I went round the corner to the Nuffield and I got them to whip it out and that’s something I couldn’t have done if I hadn’t been working on the telly. It was my lower back, vertebrae five and six.”
Ford said the operation took place following his last sell out run of Still Game: Bon Voyage shows at the SSE Hydro in February 2017. And he revealed he couldn’t go on stage without receiving medical treatment before each performance.
He added: “And it was just after I finished the Hydro in 2017. I was getting a cortisone injection into my spine in 2017 before every single show.”
Showing off the scar at the base of his back he added: ”Put it this way, before I got into Chewing the Fat they’d say ‘You know who would be ideal for this?’ - Stretch Kiernan. I did the damage lifting barrels off the back of a van when I was twenty one.”
Greg laughed: “The truth of the matter is there was nothing wrong with Ford back then. It was just a Daniel Day Lewis thing. I was slouching and he was committed to be the wee one and took two vertebrae out and that is commitment.”
Ford and Greg will be saying farewell to their beloved TV and stage characters following their final bout of stage shows in Glasgow.
Greg said: ”It’s one of my favourite things going to the Hydro to do the show and it’s great fun and it feels like the end of the road. It took us six or seven months to write it, to make sure it was a fitting show, picking up where the tv show left off. It’s like getting to be a rockstar for fifteen nights and it’s pretty cool. We’re not doing the Eagles. It’s the end.”
Ford said: “People say ‘Is it the same show as before?’ but we’ve written a brand new show because it’s the finale with the big splash at the end. In the last TV episode Jack and Victor walked into the mist and they were gone. It’s all down to interpretation. If you think they are dead you might get a surprise either way. If we were designing a funeral for Jack and Victor it would be a pire.”
Greg said: “Don’t say we killed them. Maybe we differ on this. My feeling is they live their life full. I don’t think anyone would invite 150 thousand people into an arena to make them cry. I think you can’t kill them off. It would be too sad. Jack and Victor have always been about life and living it to the full.”
Following the run, both men say they want to spend more time with their families.
Greg said: ”I’m celebrating my twentieth wedding anniversary in a week and I remember buying my mum and dad a gift for theirs. It’s really freaking me out. Twenty five is silver, fifty is gold and forty is ruby. There’s other things we want to do together down the line, together and separately.”
Ford added: “We’ve got a body of actors here who are dynamite and phenomenal not just for comedy bit for everything which we are extremely lucky to have. I’d be surprised if we don’t bump into them in some professional capacity in the future.”

BACKSTREET BOYS FAN ENDS UP PAYING AJ’S CAB FARE IN GLASGOW

Exclusive
Beverley Lyons
A Scots Backstreet Boys fan ended up paying the taxi fayre for one of the US singing stars when he said he didn’t carry any cash.
Louise Hendry, 37, a financial services administrator from Glasgow was waiting outside the band’s city centre hotel when the bizarre incident happened.
And she admits she still can’t believe that she ended up paying up the cash for one of the I Want It That Way idols.
Louise was standing outside Glasgow’s Blythswood hotel trying to catch a glimpse of the lads who played the SSE Hydro last night when singer AJ McLean from the band arrived from a shopping trip in town in a black cab.
Louise, a Backsreet Boys superfan,  who walked down the aisle to the song Drowning, and even has a lyric from the song tattooed on her neck, said: “AJ had left to go shopping earlier and came back with his minder in a black hack a few hours later. He was carrying lots of shopping bags. There were two girls from Germany waiting for him outside the hotel as well as me and when he saw us he said: “‘I’ll see you in a minute. I haven’t got any cash to pay my cab.”
He went inside the hotel and I could see him asking the concierge about where he could try and get some money. He was told there was a bank machine across the road, but I  told his minder I would pay it to save him any hassle. I rushed over and although the meter said £5.10 I gave the driver £6.”
“When AJ came out the hotel I told him I paid his taxi and he said: “I really appreciate it” and gave me a kiss and a cuddle.”

“I’ve loved the band since I was 22 when my sister liked them and had their dvd in the house . Brian initially caught my eye but I’ve loved them all since”.
“I was so happy when AJ came over for a hug and it was absolutely worth more than the £5.10 taxi fayre. He said he’d enjoyed his day shopping but had bought ‘way too much s***’ as usual.  It was priceless and made my day. I met a Brian later too and had a laugh with him.”
The married mum of one laughed: “AJ has not paid me back yet and I’ve already bought my £93 front row ticket but you never know, I might get an upgrade on the tour.”
Louise said it was lucky she had cash on her as normally she only has her card on her too.
She explained: “I don’t tend to carry cash any more but  I had it because we going for a Chinese meal. I guess I had to miss a starter because of that but I don’t care cause I had a great day.”

HUGH JACKMAN SAYS DEEP FRIED MARS BAR IN SCOTLAND DIDN’T AGREE WITH HIM

Exclusive
Beverley Lyons
WOLVERINE might possess enhanced physical capabilities,  and a powerful regenerative ability known as a healing factor but Hugh Jackman admitted yesterday that his stomach was still reeling after trying out a deep fried Mars Bar in Scotland.
The Australian X Men, Greatest Showman  and Les Miserables A Lister, who is  appearing at the SSE Hydro for a three night run from tonight (Tuesday), told the Daily Record of his encounter with the famed snack in Clydebank as he made his way into the SSE Hydro for two intensive rehearsals yesterday.
And as he walked all the way from his stylish city centre  hotel at the top of town to the venue, almost unrecognisable in a green anorak carrying his red umbrella in case he got soaked in the downpour, he talked about his visit to a local chippy in Clydebank.
He told us: “I liked my deep fried Mars Bar but unfortunately I don’t think my guts appreciated it.”
He added: “We loved the boat trip though. It was awesome.”
Hugh and his crew of dancers and musicians, who have been working out and staying at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, have wasted no time in getting to know the area since he arrived here on Saturday and to fans excitement online he kicked off his visit with a drive by The Hydro to check it out ahead of his opening night.
He also put up a video of himself online listening to his tour being announced on Radio 2 as he travelled along the M8.
Hugh decided to surprise locals at a nearby city gym early in the morning by going for a work out ahead of his packed schedule.
In a picture believed to be taken in Glasgow’s Pure Gym he smiled as he worked out alongside some stunned fans and posed for a selfie. On Sunday afternoon, Hugh also chartered a boat on Loch Lomond to tour the sights including Inchcailloch cemetery in Balmaha and, after shucking oysters  on board, went into Spar in Clydebank to get the chocolate for his deep fried Mars Bar and Reece’s cups treats in a Scots chippy.

When the heartthrob initially showed up at Bennies Chip Shop in Kilbowie Road, staff initially told his coach party that they didn’t have deep fried chocolate on the menu.
So Hugh and his gang offered to buy the chocolate themselves from the supermarket next door in order to try the special treat.
Clydebank’s Stephen Boag was in the chip shop on Kilbowie Road when Hugh appeared.
He said: “A coach pulled up outside and about thirty people came into the shop and they were all looking for deep fried chocolate. It was English and American accents and the shop wasn’t doing it but they offered to buy their own chocolate from the Spar next door.
“The shop agreed to do it but it wasn’t until someone else came back in that they recognised it was Hugh Jackman and The Greatest Showman cast. At first it was quite funny because they were just going mental in the shop and looking at everything they could get. There were about three cans of Irn Bru getting passed about everybody and they were ordering deep fried pizza and trying battered sausages. It was pretty funny just watching it all happening but when I finally clicked that it was Hugh I felt I needed to get a selfie. To be fair he didn’t really stand out at first. He just came in with the crowd and they were all pretty excited about trying out the deep fried chocolate. And he did selfies for me and a couple of people behind us.”
Yesterday Hugh said he couldn’t wait to hit the stage in Glasgow for the sell out gigs.
His costars were also delighted to be in Scotland including Keala  Settle, the bearded lady from The Greatest Showman Film who will be making a ‘surprise’ appearance to sing her now famous hit This  Is Me.
She told followers on Instagram that she ‘made it’ to Glasgow from Heathrow following some rehearsals there.

BOYZONE MEET SCOTS CANCER PATIENT IN GLASGOW 25 YEARS LATER

Boyzone were thrilled to meet one of their first Scots charity patients on Glasgow - twenty five years after they first helped her make her dreams come true.

Shelley Cunningham first met the boys in Scotland at the SECC In 1994 during their first big tour of Scotland.

Shelley then aged 12 was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. She also had septicaemia and a form of meningitis.

The visit was organised by her dad, now the famous Les Hoey MBE who is behind Scotland’s Dreammaker charity and who was desperate to help his daughter meet her idols.

At the time no other charity would help fourteen year old Shelley to fulfil her dream.

Les who is currently looking for Kiltwalk volunteers said: “I made three phone calls and no one would help me. They said they were too big a band, so I had to do all the groundwork myself. Eventually I managed to get in touch with Mark Plunkett who was the tour manager at the time and he told me he would organise it on the day of the concert.”

Shelley had spent nearly two years in Yorkhill Hospital, after a bone marrow transplant following her diagnosis in 1992  and pop group Boyzone were new to the scene.

When Les saw how happy this made Shelley, he was inspired to give other children with life threatening illnesses the same joy, and so the DreamMaker Foundation was born.

Shelley said: “The first time I met Boyzonethey were all so nervous. They asked me how I was because they could see I was skinny from all the treatment.

It built my confidence up and made me think positively after the meeting. It was incredible to meet them again twenty five years later.

Ronan remembered our first meeting and Shane said to me I’d grown up since the last time. We had a great laugh backstage and it was so lovely to chat after all these years.

I talked to other families who were there and met some kids who were going through the same illness that I had. As one parent said it was good to see the positive instead of the negative things.”

JASON DERULO HAS MAMMOTH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION IN GLASGOW NIGHTCLUB

US superstar Jason Derulo threw a huge birthday bash at a Glasgow club while he was performing in Scotland.
The Watcha Say and In My Head hitmaker appeared at the Hydro on Saturday night just hours after he’d celebrated his 29th birthday until the wee small hours at city centre club Distrikt.
Jason and his posse began his big celebration backstage at a dress rehearsal in the Hydro before returning to Glasgow’s Malmaison to get dressed up for the night.
As they drank champagne from plastic cups in their dressing room, Jason told his posse: “Hey I want to thank you all for your passion so hang tight. We’re heading somewhere legendary. There’s no better way to spend my birthday than with my second family.”
After a few hours of chill time at the hotel, he emerged around eleven thirty pm wearing a gold and black jacket, black jeans and a huge gold cross ready for his big bash.
As he made his way down from his upstairs room, he was grinning from ear to ear as he was serenaded on the phone by a relative in Miami who sang happy birthday to him.
Then, as he carried a Taylor & Taylor toiletry bag, given to him as a present, he and his forty strong entourage headed out for dinner in a convoy of Black taxis to an Italian restaurant nearby.
At around one pm he and his party then arrived at Distrikt nightclub where they took over three of the private booths.
Shocked clubbers scrambled for a better view as the Talk Dirty star and his posse were led in by some huge security guards and Jason, his band members and touring crew made it clear they were in for a big night.
As they sat down in the plush roped off booths, a sea of flaming bottles of booze were carried over to them by the club’s hostesses.
One onlooker said: “It was non stop. Every few minutes there would be another spark of light as more bottles were set on fire and taken to Derulos booth. It was like fireworks night inside the club.”
Jason had forty people with him to enjoy the celebrations but then his group began inviting other punters at the club into the booths to have even more drinks.
The clubber continued: “Most of the attractive girls ended up in the booths at some point while the bouncers made sure Jason was happy and safe. At this be point Jason moved over to an empty booth to feel less crowded as more and more people joined in with the party.”
Although Jason had specifically asked that no mention he made of his birthday, it was obvious that the party were in a celebratory mood as they kept ordering bottle after bottle of champagne, spirits and sparking wine.
A source at the club said: “Jason and his party were out to have a good night and they pulled out all the stops. I can’t say too much because it’s confidential but they spent a lot of money on the night. It was great because we’d normally have to spend tens of thousands of pounds to get Jason Derulo to make an appearance but instead he paid us for having his party.”
The source revealed that Jason ordered bottles of Grey Goose vodka at £150 a throw.
The insider added: “They also ordered bottles of Ceroc vodka.  They  had loads of bottles of Jack Daniels Whiskey Tennessee at £150 each, and they drank around a dozen bottles of Moet Chandon Rose Imperial at £80 a bottle as well as other bottles of Moet Chandon Brut Imperial.
The party who also enjoyed bottles of Martelle Cognac, drank three cases of Luc BelAire Sparkling rose wine which they specially requested be brought  to the club. The bottles which are sold in nightclubs for around £50 a throw feature a funky neon label which glows in the dark.
The source said: ”We had to get the drink in specially for Jason. It is not usually sold in the club but it is a favourite of rappers like Rick Ross.”
During the night some of Jason’s friends took off their tops while others danced away to the beats of DJ Naeem.
Jason later said of his birthday bash: “I can’t think of a better way to spend a birthday party than here.”

SHANIA TWAIN AND THE SECRET BEHIND HER GLASGOW CHICKEN VISIT

Shania Twain might have had dinner at Bucks chicken restaurant but she admitted to me that she didn’t eat any birds on the night.
Shania checked into her city centre hotel around about seven pm along with her five guitars and crew.
She had snuck through a side door at her hotel and I actually thought initially that she’d gone to bed - maybe cause she was still on transatlantic time.
But then, a little tipster told me she’d gone for some dinner at Bucks Bar and was still there.
I ran and after a wee bit of waiting around I spoke to her as she walked outside with her crew.
She was a lovely gal, so down to earth.
She told me she’d just been in Glasgow two hours and that she hadn’t had a chance to explore but was looking forward to spending the next four days here.
When I asked her how her chicken dinner was and admitted I thought she was veggie she laughed. “Yes most of us are vegetarian but there was still plenty for us to enjoy.”
I have it on good authority that the much impressed Shania enjoyed vegan option The Umami Tsunami - crispy tofu with a miso mushroom sauce, and salad in honey lime dressing.
The singer also drank a couple glasses Sauvignon Blanc and her pals enjoyed some pints of Drygate Gladeye IPA each.
The rest of the party also indulged in Thai Style Hot Wings and Halloumi  Nuggets with 25 ingredient BBQ dip.
A spokesperson for the bar said later: “Funny thing is that she was served by our Canadian waitress Sadie. As Shania was leaving Sadie turned round to he manager and said ‘that woman looks a bit like Shania Twain. No one in the place recognised her.”
After Shania posted up a picture of her toilet trip with the signs reading Cocks for men and Hens for women’s some cheeky fans wondered if she’d change the name of her famous song to “Cock, I feel like a Hen.”
Seeing her standing outside the loos another joked: “Looks like she made it.”

TAKE THAT HIGH ROAD ON THE BONNIE BANKS

TAKE That's Howard, Gary and Mark have been enjoying some chill time time on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond in between their hot Scots dates at the SSE Hydro.
And after seeing a mob of female fans working for them outside their hotel Mark Owen joked that they got a bigger crowd there than at their Hydro gigs.

The trio were staying at the swish Cameron House hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow and were welcomed by fifty female fans who had waited to see them since the early hours of the morning.
And although the Greatest Love stars chose swanky Maybach Mercedes to travel in, they were nothing compared to the cars including Ferraris, Aston

Martins and Bentleys that were from the luxury rally also being held at the hotel.
Mark said: "There are more people here than are going to be at the gig tonight."
Gary and Howard also waved to fans as they waited on their cars.
Howard had to wait so long for his car that he mimed getting into it before it came.

The lads played a succession of nights at Glasgow's SSE Hydro and managed to have some chill time this morning with an early walk around the grounds.

STILL GAME GETS NEW TITLES AND MUSIC

STILL Game producers got together with the world-renowned BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to make the new title music for the show.
And they engaged the services of BAFTA award-winning TV & film composer Ben Foster.
Recorded last week at the City Halls in Glasgow, home to the BBC SSO, Foster arranged and orchestrated the new titles, re-recording the Frank Chacksfield song ‘Cuban Boy’.

The track has long been associated with the Still Game series since its debut in 2002, originally using a version by The Cuban Boys.
The new title music was conducted by BAFTA award-winning British composer, Ben Foster whose TV and film credits include Doctor Who Live, Torchwood, Prometheus and The Grey, amongst others.

The iconic opening titles of Still Game which see evergreen pensioner pals Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade (Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill) age through the years, have also been reshot for the new much-anticipated seventh series.
The new titles remain faithful to the original style seeing Jack and Victor through the ages from schoolboys, to teens and adults in the 60s, 70s, 80s to the present day.

Jacqueline Sinclair, Producer, said: “Jack and Victor may not have aged and the original titles have been fabulous for 14 years but as the whole series is getting a polish, we really needed to make the titles sparkle for HD widescreen televisions too. The re-recording of the title music has been the icing on the cake and it really did bring a tear to my eye to hear it being performed live!”

Joan Morrison, Orchestra and Events Manager for the BBC SSO, added: “We are thrilled to be a part of the new series of Still Game and had great fun recording the soundtrack. The orchestra plays a vital role in contributing to programmes across the BBC, entertaining and enlightening audiences throughout Scotland, the UK and beyond.”
After a nine year hiatus, Still Game returns to BBC One on Friday October 7.

BIG ANGIE BREAKS BOX OFFICE AT FRINGE

BIG Angie came, saw and conquered Edinburgh - and after breaking the box office she's not ruling out a rerun next year.
Glasgow's Big Darling, the invention of the talented Scot KB Brannigan who is determined to play the SSE Hydro in the not too distant future, dared to shake it all about and escape the relative safety of online as she gave her Guide To The Gallowgate at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The audience who turned up to witness her showcase were in the palm of her hand by the Ibis hotel at Cowgate as she took them through her life story with a few sobs and chuckles along the way.
The show ended with her own song and a message to take some chips n cheese up the road.
Having performed at Glasgow Gay Pride on Glasgow Green, to an audience of 10,000, and amassed a strong online following as well as being hailed by the likes of Fred Macaulay, it won't be the last time we hear from her.
Full of Weegie patter, Big Angie said: "I love all these acts and the handsome men at the Fringe. It's fantastic. We got told the other night we broke the box offices at C Venues.
I saw a good psychic the other day and she says I'll be back next year. The future I s as bright as these lights."

DAVID COULTHARD MAKES PRECIOUS PIT STOP FOR SICK KIDS

David Coulthard took time out of the fast lane to meet some of Scotland's bravest sick kids and give them a shot of his F1 car.

The racing champ, who has been appearing at the Ignition Festival at Glasgow's SSE Hydro complex took the special pit stop to meet kids from the Les Hoey MBE Dreammaker Foundation today.
Amongst the kids who got a chance to speak with the star were little Arran Paterson, 8, who desperately needs a liver transplant.

Arran's dad Derek from Baillieston said: "Arran has had twenty five procedures and it really brightened him up to meet David today. It gives him a wee boost. He has an underlying heart condition and needs a liver transplant and we got the call last week but the match was not suitable for his age and size."

Ben Baikie, 6 from Lenzie has leukaemia and loves racing cars.
Dad John said: "He loves Ferraris big and was so excited to be up so close. Ben had his Ferrari outfit on and David gave him a wee hug too. It takes his mind off things and gives him good memories and happy times."

Grangemouth lad David Carr, 7, who was with his mum Laura also loved the cars.
Laura said: "Carr by name, Car by nature. David likes any type of car from American muscle to Formula One. He can tell you a car just by looking at its front lights."
David was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2014 and often gets tired. He was thrilled when David Coulthard asked him about his condition and what his tube was for. He went very quiet because he was in awe."
Charity man Les Hoey said: "We were thrilled David gave us his precious time today. It really helps the kids to have such a great day out."

CALVIN CONFIRMS TAYLOR SPLIT

CALVIN Harris claims he still has "a huge amount of love and respect" for Taylor Swift as he confirmed news of their break up.
After 15 months Talvin has met its demise and Dumfries born Calvin has tried to silence the rumours by telling fans on Twitter: "The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect."
Taylor herself retweeted the message late last night.
The two former lovebirds were said to be incompatible and it is believed Calvin reluctantly ended the relationship after things became too intense.
Either way, fans of both artists are mourning the end of their very special relationship.
