MARC ALMOND SLAMS HATERS AFTER BOWIE GIG

MARC Almond has hit back at the haters who claim he 'murdered Bowie' after he performed two of the legend's songs at the BBC Proms.
The Soft Cell singer who bumped into theshowbizlion.com at Rewind festival in Perthshire's  Scone  Palace just last weekend, defended himself after some claimed he sang out of tune and forgot his words on David Bowie's Starman and Life On Mars.
He said: "Well if you're given two untouchable iconic classics to sing with totally new arrangements, you have to expect the flak. Stumbling over one word due to sound and nerves in LOM becomes forgetting all the words and singing COMPLETELY out of tune! Love Twitter."
He added: "I'd rather listen to Musical experts than some musically ignorant obsessed Bowie Fan and people who just have a problem with me period."
"Apparently I'm not a true Bowie fan and have no respect for him or his songs and let down the whole event. Oh please Give me strength.
That's why Tony Visconti Bowies friend and Producer asks me to sing at his Bowie shows."
The unusual versions of the songs he sang were arranged by Scottish Album of The Year winner Anna Meredith.

BARBARA DICKSON HASN'T SEEN PETER KAY AND SUSAN BOYLE COMEDY SKETCH

 SINGER BARBARA Dickson loves comedian Peter Kay but claims she has never seen his spoof of her classic duet with Elaine Paige - I Know Him So Well.
The respected vocalist was at the Scottish Variety Awards in Glasgow's Crowne Plaza when the conversation turned towards the comedy take off of the hit Chess song which saw Peter play her role opposite Susan Boyle's Elaine Paige.
Barbara said: "I'm a great fan of Peter but I haven't seen the sketch. The song is a classic but I never sing it now - because it needs a duet."
Barbara joined band Prides, River City's Jordan Young and upcoming comedian Kate Dillon amongst the winners at the annual Scots showbiz ceremony.

The glitzy event was hosted by River City's Leah MacRae, STV's David Farrell,and talents including STVs Laura Boyd, Gerry Cassidy, musicians Fatherson, and star stylists Taylor and Anne Ferguson were in attendance.
Performances came from the UK Theatre School who paid tribute to David Bowie and mind reader Colin Cloud who baffled everyone with his psychic powers. Prides and Barbara also showcased their winning sounds and Gun frontman Dante Gizzi showed off his dance moves till the wee small hours.
Guests tucked into a three course dinner of chicken liver pate, filet of beef and cheesecake and funds were raised for DEBRA, The STV Appeal and The Second Chance Project on the night.

COLLABRO HIT THE HIGH NOTES DESPITE DRESSING ROOM DRAMA

CLASSICAL group Collabro might have come from a reality TV show but they ooze a quality that transcends the hackneyed format.
The five lads each offer something different for fans - from high to low on the singing scale - and grungy to polished on the looks side, but on the night they were suited and booted and blended together perfectly.
Michael Auger, Richard Hadfield, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan and Thomas J Redgrave have come a long way since winning the eighth series of BGT in 2014 and their performance at Glasgow's  Royal Concert Hall was one of their best yet. 
Mash ups were promised on the night  as well as songs from their album Act Two, but there were a few nice surprises along the way.
Five part harmonies shone on songs like Somewhere Only We Know while the lads got to do a bit of swing with That's Life, bringing even more life to their set. 
Their chat on stage was natural, and they even managed to laugh things off when Richard arrived late on stage from the dressing room. He claimed he was putting on his tie.
There were some original vocal arrangements on tracks like No Matter What, originally suggested to the the boys by former Boyzone manager Louis Walsh.
A section of the show devoted to The Phantom of the Opera played perfectly and gave Scots soprano Catriona Murray another chance to shine too. She gave Sarah Brightman a run for her money.
Songs like A Thousand Years were pitch perfect while the boy's attempt at twisting Mumford and Sons also thrilled their Collaborators.
Standing ovations were order of the night during this sold out gig and this, we're sure,  will be one of the last chances to see Collabro in a smaller venue before they play arenas.
