NATHAN EVANS IS THE DADDY OF POPSTARS

NATHAN Evans might be celebrating being at number three on the iTunes chart but he says life has become even more hectic since he became a dad.
The Scots charttopper, whose hit sea shanty Wellerman has now been played around the world and even got him on the US Kelly Clarkson show has been wowing fans with his new song Heather On The Hill and he’s juggling performances in between family life.
Following an appearance on This Morning Nathan, whose wife Holly gave birth to Hunter in July, told theshowbizlion.com : “It’s been hectic hectic and if it wasn't hectic before it's definitely more hectic when you have a baby, but it’s been incredible.”
Following a complicated C section Hunter had to be put on a CPAP machine (which provides air pressure to stop the airways collapsing) and oxygen and was in ICU for two weeks.
Nathan said he’s now making brilliant progress.
He explained: “He is so good and is amazing, sleeping well, eating well and checking off all the checklist and milestones he needs to hit.”
He added: “I think he’s got a musical mind already. Every time I crack out the guitar he's instantly interested, he's trying to touch it, he’s trying to  strum the strings, and if I’m just sitting playing songs or whatever, he just sits and watches and listens.
“And he’s dead calm so I don't know if I'm just being optimistic but I think he's got a bit of musical ability in him. I might be optimistic right enough.”

Former Aidrie postman Nathan first went viral in 2021 after he posted a sixty second clip of himself in TikTok singing a sea shanty whaling song.
Within days the clip had gone viral with Queen guitarist Brian May, composer Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Gary Barlow, Ronan Keating and US chat show king Jimmy Fallon all posting their own versions of his track.
Since then he’s been signed and has released an album with a second in the works, as well as performed to legions of fans across Europe.
He said: “I've been in Germany quite a lot from playing influencer charity football matches to playing big massive influencer shows to 15,000 people. At New Year's Eve I was the one to bring in the bells for a New Year's Eve at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin which had between 65 to 80,000 people there, which is ridiculous. Luckily the lights were brilliant  and I could only see maybe five rows so that was good. It wasn't until I came back and saw it on the screen and I was like, wow that’s a lot of people. That's probably the biggest show I've ever done and it was absolutely crazy. But it's incredible.”
Nathan’s latest song Heather on The Hill with its Scottish folk undertones has gained him even more fans.
Nathan said: “It's been absolutely mental. So on Wednesday, I had some filming during the day. I first straight from there down to London when I stayed over on Wednesday night, went straight to film on This Morning and then fresh, flew straight home.

I got home, had a shower for 20 minutes and went straight back out for two shows and now I’m doing more filming . It's been a mad couple of weeks but it's been incredible.
The new song is upbeat, it's happy, it's like it gets everybody off the feet and dancing and it has that kind of vibe.  I wrote it with the boys from Saint Phnx and we just had an idea for a Scottish traditional song. It just makes you feel good so that's kind of why it resonates so much for everybody.”

SCOTS COMIC WRITER MARK MILLAR GIVES BLESSING TO WOLVERINE BABY

Exclusive
Beverley Lyons
SCOTS Wolverine fan Laura Hayton has called her new baby boy Logan after going into labour within hours of winning best costume at a Comic Con hosted by Utlimate X Men writer Mark Millar.
Laura, from Coatbridge, who is a huge fan of the comic character had her costume made by her husband and waited for eight hours to meet Mark at the event.
She said it felt great to get Mark’s blessing after he saw the outfit.

She explained:”My husband Andrew and four year old son Nathan and I are over the moon that Logan is finally here. Andrew is very artistic and thinks of things that no one else really does. He came up with the idea and gave the outfit to me on Saturday morning. I'm usually up for anything especially with having a four year old. It's good to teach him not have any reservations about enjoying himself.
“At the event it was tiring but I spent most of the time sitting down in the main hall listening to the Q+A's with the Outlander stars, Mark himself,  Robert Florence and Sanjeev Kholi. My husband introduced me to comics and the comic films, and Nathan loves Spiderman and the Marvel superhero comics.
“Wolverine is one of my favourite films and my husband's favourite comic so he suggested the name Logan. He's definitely going to be a little superhero. I'm looking forward to seeing both my superheros growing up together.

She added: “The fact Mark has 'blessed' the baby is fantastic. I find it so funny and definitely a story that will be told at Logan's 21st.
A thrilled Mark Millar said: “The fact that Laura has now called her baby Logan after Hugh Jackman’s famous character is the cherry on the cake. It almost feels made up. Our host, the brilliant Glasgow comedian Billy Kirkwood, who was giving his services for free, picked Laura out from about thirty entries on stage. There were some great costumes here and Billy was left in the genuinely difficult position of choosing, especially given more than half of the entries were young kids.
“Laura’s wee boy shouted from the audience, super-proud, that his Mum was having her baby on Monday and Billy looked around at this girl with the big pregnant bump who had brought her kid to the event for the entire eight hours and said ‘well, your Mum’s just won £100’.
The money had been donated by Residence Estate Agents and it was the perfect end to a great show. The costume was utterly brilliant, two baby Wolverine claws busting out of her tummy. In a crowd of great costumes it was the stand-out and also means we can sell an extra ticket for the event next time!”
Mark added:”We all had a ball at the show and I’ve had a great time putting on these big events in my old Townhead area of Coatbridge. We’ve got a big Santa Experience planned for Nov 24th and a free Christmas dinner for all pensioners at an Abba Tribute night in December. My wife Lucy and I have enjoyed all these more than anyone.”

ASHTON KUTCHER AND MILA KUNIS SWAPPED EASTER EGGS FOR RAISINS

ASHTON Kutcher and Mila Kunis gave their daughter raisins and breakfast cereal instead of chocolate eggs for Easter.
The Hollywood actor who is married to Mila Kunis didn't want his 18-month-old daughter to have too much sugar.
He said: "We didn't want to put candy in because she's one and a half and she's not quite ready. We're not quite ready for her to be ready for candy, so we did Cheerios and raisins. She loved the raisins. She was going ape for the raisins."
Ashton and Mila got their knickers in a twist over how to explain the Easter Bunny to their baby.
He explained to Jimmy Kimmel: "We actually were debating whether or not we were going to explain that a bunny was laying eggs. So, we had a legitimate conversation as to whether or not we're going to go down that path. Like, we think we're going Santa Claus, but we don't know about the bunny. It's tough because it's like, 'Why is a bunny laying eggs? Mommy, does a bunny lay eggs?' ... 'No, but the Easter Bunny does.' And then it becomes a whole thing. And what does that have to do with Jesus coming back from the dead?"

ADELE GETS CHARITABLE FOR SCOTS GIGS

Adele is making sure charity begins at home before taking to the stage tonight at Glasgow's SSE Hydro.
The 27 year old singer has been a long term supporter of Sands, a UK-based charity dedicated to 'supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.'
Insiders claim she insists that any guest receiving complimentary tickets will be asked to contribute £15 to the charity.
Adele, full name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE, is set to appear on stage at the city's SSE Hydro venue at 8pm this evening and open her concert with Hello.
The sold out gigs tonight and tomorrow ( a few extra tickets just went on sale on ticket master this am) are two of the big dates in this year's music calendar and the venue has been working hard to ensure everything is in order for the star.
Adele's tour rider so far has been kept under wraps but in 2011 she asked for a pack of Marlboro Lights and a disposable lighter, an assortment of chewing gum, and a small plate of 'freshly made, individually wrapped sandwiches' that 'must NOT contain tomatoes, vinegar, chilli or citrus fruit.'
She also requested 'bite-size' chocolate bars, including Twix, Aero, Milky Way, and Mars on her tour bus post gig and organic muesli and six Cereal bars.
Two bottles of the 'very best quality red wine' and 12 bottles of 'best quality European lager beer. ie Becks, Stella Artois, Peroni etc' were also demanded.
This time round Adele is a mum and even took her baby Angelo aka Peanut to her London gig for the first time.
Given that she's a conscientious mother we reckon her rider might be a little less rock n roll this time round.
Adele comes to Glasgow hot on the heels of Mariah Carey who she has referred To as 'biblical'. The two ladies keep missing one another on tour but one day that could be a duet to die for.

IT'S A BOY FOR SANDI THOM!

SANDI Thom has given birth to a beautiful baby boy and she admits waiting for him to appear was a real labour of love.
The Earthquake and Punk Rocker singer had been offline for a few days prompting fans to ask if she had become a mother yet.
On Thursday afternoon she revealed she and hubby Matt were parents as she posted up these pictures of her family, including her mum with her new addition.
She told fans: "FINALLY.... Proud to announce that our little man arrived this week."
Sandi admitted the new addition to the family was bigger than expected,
She said: "Weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 15oz and already wearing 3 month old baby grows he is perfect!!! ðŸ˜˜. It wasn't a walk in the park that's for sure but so proud to have given birth to him and so thankful to my husband and mum for keeping me focused throughout a very tiresome but 100% worthwhile labour. Our little boy is a wee beauty!!!!"
Sandi used hypnosis to help ease the run up to her birth and claimed she was looking after her body after a cervical cancer scare when she was a student.

SANDI THOM USES HYPNOSIS BEFORE BIRTH

SANDI Thom is insisting on a natural birth for her first child with hubbie Matt Benson. The Punk Rocker star, who is due to give birth any minute, refused to be induced by doctors
She told her online followers: "Still here!! Said no to induction. Baby will come when baby is ready!"
Sandi who is releasing her new album in just a few weeks time, took up running to ensure her body wouldn't get too out of shape with her pregnancy.
She has also prepared for the birth by taking up the unusual practice of  hypnobirthing.
Sandi who has been going through the process with  founder of KG hypnobirthing Katharine Graves.explained: " I can safely say it's the best thing I ever did. Not only do you learn everything you would have learned in an antenatal class but you're also equipped with some wonderful relaxation techniques to help guide you through your labour and a greater understanding of exactly what is going on inside your body at the time.
The process replaces words like contraction with words like wave and surge.
Sandi added: "Basically before I go to bed, Matt reads one of several relaxation visualisations whilst combining that with his touch. It may be that he strokes my hand, my forehead or my abdomen. I simply relax myself and let my subconscious mind soak in every word he says.
Eventually over time I begin to associate this touch and these visualisations with pure relaxation so when I do go into labour it is the quickest and most effective way to send me into a deep relaxed state. Being in this state of mind will then trigger my body to go into the same state, as body always follows mind and if my body is relaxed, it is open and soft and my uterine muscles will open quicker and more effectively with less pain and discomfort."
