APPRENTICE STAR ATTENDS FRANK MCAVENNIE BASH

Beverley Lyons
APPRENTICE Star Thomas Skinner has become such a fan favourite that he now has his own Showbiz manager and publicist.
Pillow company boss Thomas, 28, who has impressed with his wheeling and dealing and hands-on cheeky chappy attitude thoughout the show with Lord Alan Sugar is now just weeks away from a potential victory.
He has currently made the final eight following Ryan-Mark Parsons departure last week and he is high up on the bookies list to win alongside Lewis Ellis, Pamela Laird, Marianne Rawlins, Carina Lenore, Lottie Lion, Scarlett Allen-Horton, and Dean Ahmad.
Last week, fans raved that Thomas was noble and chivalrous following his demands to be brought back into the boardroom to save his teammate.
We can now reveal that Thomas, who had a paper round at 12 and used to work on market stalls from the age of 16, has been snapped up by Showbiz agency CAN who represent celebrities including Peter Andre, Rachel Hunter, Amy Childs, Dan Osbourne and Gary Lucy.
A spokesperson for CAN confirmed: “The CAN Group are now representing Apprentice candidate Thomas Skinner. The 28 year old is part of the current 2019 series of the hit BBC TV show and is also owner of his own business, The Fluffy Pillow Company. Tom’s hobbies include boxing, golf and fitness, has a passion for fashion and relishes the challenge of being an entrepreneur. He is now available for opportunities.”
Thomas is currently keeping tight lipped about the future of his role in the programme.
The businessman who claims that he like boxing, rugby, beer and West Ham in his Twitter profile, was spotted enjoying a special anniversary interview  with Frank McAvennie at the weekend in the famous grounds in East London.
Thomas didn’t demand any special treatment as he turned up to support Frank, who turned sixty, at the interview ahead of the match.
Singer Debi Ronain who was a guest of Franks at the stadium said: “We couldn’t believe it when we saw Thomas at the match. He was like a normal punter mingling with everyone. He told us he absolutely loves Frank. We kept asking him about Snotty Lotty but he just laughed off our comments. He couldn’t tell is if he’d won or not but was very polite and took time to have his photos taken. He’s also shared on his socials the song we wrote starring Frank McAvennie called Funtime Frankie. I think he was driving so he wasn’t even drinking at the match. He was such a nice guy.”

BE A MODEL CITIZEN WITH A BELVEDERE BIRTHDAY PARTY IN GLASGOW

IF you like Vodka, Coffee and Fine Food then you need to book into a very special Birthday Party on Thursday October 4.
Luxury brand Belvedere Vodka has teamed up with the ever stylish Citizen Hotel in Glasgow for an exclusive birthday celebration - and it lasts for the whole of October.
The showbizlion.com has always gone wild for  Belvedere and we love the stylish bottle that glows in the dark.
This time round Belvedere is bringing the iconic cocktail – the espresso martini – to The Citizen on St Vincent Place in the heart of Glasgow as part of an exclusive month-long ‘pop-up with a coffee twist’.
The city centre pop-up – a Scottish exclusive - will provide style and substance for a retail therapy recharge as well as for purveyors of fine gastronomy and vodka connoisseurs.

Belvedere in Italian translates to ‘beautiful to see’ and the cocktails on offer this month are exactly that.  The Citizen’s mixologist Matteo Clerici has curated three other very special coffee-inspired cocktails that offer new twists on the classics - The Cold Brew Gimlet, The Chocomint Martini and finally a Don Cortez, which adds a subtle nod to Belvedere’s Polish roots.
On Thursday October 4 there’s a party marking the first birthday of The Citizen and we’ll be there to try it all out.
The history of The Citizen as the home of one of Glasgow’s first newspapers is legendary, the Grade A1 listed building it is set within – Scotland’s first red sandstone - is iconic, and its inspired gastronomy is unashamedly Scottish. Add to this an ambience that is chic and fun and the birthday party promises to be an unmissable occasion.
Guests will ascend into the striking building, and through to the Editor’s Suite – a stylishly restored homage to the venue’s heritage when in 1889 it was the headquarters of The Evening Citizen newspaper.
On arrival into The Editor’s Suite, flashbulbs will pop and, for one night only, disco will reign supreme with a very special DJ set from Billy Woods of famed club night Supermax. Party goers will toast the occasion with the connoisseur’s cocktail of choice - the Belvedere espresso martini - as well as pairing canapés and birthday cake.

Tickets to attend the party are now available through this link https://booking.resdiary.com/widget/Standard/TheCitizen/6372?DATE=2018-10-4 or by calling 0141 222 2909

They cost £25 per person and include 3 Belvedere cocktails, canapés andbirthday cake.

Izzy Cameron of Moët Hennessy said: "The Espresso Martini is one of the most popular cocktails in the UK, with the coffee and spirit world growing closer together in their purity and quality. We are excited to be collaborating with The Citizen who are blending the natural character of Belvedere vodka with quality ingredients to showcase five unique coffee cocktails."
Tony Conetta, Co-owner of The Citizen added: One year ago, after an extensive restoration, we opened the doors to what is one of Glasgow’s most impressive buildings with an equally iconic history. Now, as we celebrate our first birthday, and in the spirit of The Citizen’s pioneering legacy, we are thrilled to be partnering with our friends at Belvedere for this unmissable party and unique month-long pop-up.”

CHAMPAGNE WIDOW TO RISE FROM DEAD DURING HAUNTED GLASGOW PARTY

VEUVE Clicquot is expected to rise from the dead tonight during an elaborate Scots Halloween party.
The Grande Dame of Champagne passed away 150 years ago and is planning to stir things up tonight at Hutchesons Bar & Brasserie, the award-winning venue in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City, for a spookily stylish night of mystery, indulgence and nocturnal fun.
Hutchesons Meet The Widow party this evening takes place in the lavish Grade A-listed landmark as it is transformed into a gloriously dark and twisted haunted mansion to mark the 150 years since the passing of Madame Clicquot.
The famed French businesswoman who took on her husbands wine business when she was widowed at 27, was a true visionary, developing crucial innovations that would shape the future of the Champagne industry.
The ticketed black tie Masquerade party at Hutchesons, set against the theme of ‘A Beautiful Darkness’, presents two alluring options for the evening; the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Dinner commencing 7pm, with season-inspired courses created by Rusk & Rusk Executive Head Chef, John Molloy, followed by the striking reveal at 8.30pm of the Veuve Clicquot Meet The Widow Halloween Party, hosted in The 158 Champagne & Oyster.
Gemma Leisegang, Moët Hennessy said, “Veuve Clicquot Meet The Widow Halloween Party at Hutchesons will be an unmissablecelebration of magical mystère; dark, indulgent and utterly enthralling. The most spellbinding Halloween party awaits.”

PAOLO NUTINI BRINGING IN BELLS FOR HOGMANAY IN SCOTLAND

PAOLO Nutini will bring in the bells at Edinburgh's Hogmanay for his only festival performance this year.
The Paisley born multi platinum performer is celebrating the ten year anniversary of is album These Streets and can't wait to get the party started at the flagship Concert in The Gardens. He said: "When they offered us the gig, I was made up, as it was 10 years ago that we had shown up at the castle, lined up to play alongside the Pet Shop Boys and unfortunately it was a washout ... forcing the powers that be to cancel. We went back as a three piece in ‘08 to play a small set before legging it to Glasgow for George Square but this now gives us a chance to make up for lost gigs. We had no plans for any shows this year after Wales but this was the only one that over the years I hoped that we would get another shot at. Edinburgh is electric at that time of year and I'm glad we get a chance to be a part of it. Let's dance ladies and gentleman."
Paolo will join The Charlatans who play The Waverley Stage at the fest alongside another as yet unannounced special guest.
Tim Burgess said: "Nowhere in the world sees in the New Year like Scotland. I've been to Edinburgh before for Hogmanay and it's always brilliant. Looking forward to another big night.”
The Castle Stage at the fest features performances from leading Scottish Celtic crossover bands Salsa Celtica , Manran and Ross Ainslie, Ali Hutton & Friends while The Frederick Stage (Party) provides the soundtrack to the whole Street Party with a heart-thumping, show stopping, disco dancing set featuring DJ’s, dancers and performers from Guilty Pleasures.
VJ’s Buttercup and Pixels mix cutting-edge visuals to accompany the dance tunes which are relayed on seven screens along the length of Princes Street and throughout the Street Party arena.
The Mound Stage programmed in collaboration with the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival hosts James Brown is Annie, Brass Gumbo and Blues n Trouble.
The Candlelit Concert will take place in the magnificent setting of St Giles’ Cathedral.
